I want to create a class that will be used for drawing a pentagon as per given edge length, x, y position etc. through Actionscript 2.0 in Flash 8 or Actionscript 3.0 in Flash 9,

Details:
I will ask user for following input:
1> current movie
2> new movie name
3> x
4> y
5> edge length

what I want is:
create an empty movieclip with given name first, then draw pentagon at the x,y position with the edge with given length and then put it on the curr_movie.

Is there anybody who know this?? If yes then please give the reply.

I am waiting for it.

problem with IE 7

Hi,

The mailto protocol in my web page which was working perfectly in IE6 is not working in IE7.

Problem Details:
The href attribute contains around 300 characters. Here goes the tag.
<a href="mailto:me@company.com?subject=Hi&body= A 300 character long body">Contact me</a>

However, if the no. of characters is reduced, it is working perfectly in IE 7.

Can somebody help me solve this?

Well I must admit i havnt heard of this, but the fact that if the no. of characters is reduced it works indicates that it is a bug.

What do you mean by "not working"?

Standard question #2:
What error message do you get?

Are you sure that it's the number of characters that is the problem, and not the specific characters that you are using?

Do you have any characters that should be encoded to be in an url? For example, an url may not contain spaces.

Here are the answers for your questions.

1 & 2. What do you mean by "not working"? What error message do you get?

After I click on the link, I don't find any response. No error message as well.

So I tried copying the tag mailto:me@company.com.. with the 300+ chars in the body and tried it directly on the address bar. It said "Could not perform the operation bcoz the default mail client is not properly installed". However, when i reduced the no. of characters and tried it in the address bar, it started working.

as for your other questions,
i dont use any specific characters. n nothing to be encoded in the url as wekk. i tried it on all windows platforms vista, xp, server 2003 etc. it gives me the same problem no matter what the content is. it depends only on the total characters.

i am totally confused!!..

I have tried a mailto link with a subject line that is 300 characters, then 600 characters, then 1000 characters, and it works without a problem.

Guffa, could you please provide me with the IE 7 build details? Could you also please check if it is working for 2500 characters?

I am using version 7.0.5730.11.

The limit for both Firefox 2.0 and IE 7 is somewhere between 1900 and 2000 characters.

I checked that out as well with Outlook Express 6.0 and MS Outlook 2007. I tried it in all permutations in around 15 systems in my office.

Hello,

VS 2005

I am trying to deploy a web service to a remote computer. The remote computer is on the local network.

On my development computer I have a webservice that just displays hello world. On the solution I click copy web site.

I connect to the remote computer and send the web.config, and service.asmx over to the remote IIS.

I then go back to my developer machine and try and view the service.asmx over the internet. I get this following message.

Server Error in '/webserviceTest' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

I thought this would be a straight forward thing, but i have spent many hours trying to solve.

Does anyone have any ideas, thank very much,

Yes I see it. The Variable that holds the SQL statement is called "$querry", whereas you refer to it as "$query".

In addition to that you have made optimization mistakes.

While that may seem to be a subtle difference it can save about 25-40% of the time it takes in execution (essential for large amounts of printed data)
