I used the button (insert link into article) to the left of the uploaded file.

It seems as if it might have been a 7-zip problem. I uploaded it as a zip instead of as a 7z and it seemed to work better now.

Yes, according to the FAQ the files should be provided in ZIP format.

I had a previously working article and now all the pictures are gone. I have not edited the article in a while and they used to work, so it is not because of one of my edits or anything I did...
What gives???

Make sure you reference images using src="image.ext" not src="http://www.codeproject.com/KB/Articles/id/image.ext". Files may move, and our system handles the paths internally.

The server is reporting that the image is missing. You might want to try uploading it with a new name.

At submit new article page, when click upload files button, the browser jump to error page and display "Controller, Action or Item Not Found".
I don't know where is the problem.

So - I have an article that isn't ready for general consumption but I'd like a couple of folks I know to take a look.
Is it possible to give them a link to the article in draft state, or should I just email the content by copy-paste?

If you leave your article as pending then, as long as these readers have enough permissions, they should be able to view it when you share the link.
