It is clearly in the lib directory. However since that is a relative path and you have given no indication where it is rooted, we cannot tell. Try using Windows Explorer to search for it.

I want to delete element n and m in the array.
public static void main(String[] args)
{
int number=0;
String [] names = {"Pedro","Maria", "Nancy","Pinto" };
for (int i =0; i < names.length; i++) {
names[number]=names[i];
}
number--;
System.out.println(Arrays.toString(names));
}

Not sure what exactly you mean but your code makes no sense. You should not be using arrays for such a construct, but one of the Java Collection Classes[^].
|
|
|
|
|
If you can't use a List instead of an array (for example ArrayList) the only way is to create a new array, copy the elements except the element you want to delete and rename the new array as names.
Especially for long arrays System.arraycopy might be faster (copy the part before the element to delete and then the part behind).
But this is work around which requires a lot of code for a simple task, so using a List would be more readble and less error prone.

You can't change the size of an array.
So you have to create a new one:
String [] names = {"Pedro","Maria", "Nancy","Pinto" };
int m = 3;
{
List<String> l = new ArrayList<String>(Arrays.asList(names));
l.remove(m);
names = l.toArray(new String[0]);
}

I am creating a Java web service that is receiving input requests in XML format. The web service's function is to parse the XML initial request and send it's own post request to a third party organization which does a look-up for the request and if available they send a response back in XML format to the web service for processing. If the response does find the data in the look-up the information it sends back as XML and is parsed by the web service then saved as a .pdf file. Once the .pdf file is created the web service packages a response XML message and along with the identifying information a link to the .pdf is part of the message sent back to the calling client. Now, if the search for the information is not found a XML message is sent back to the client indication the third party did not have the information ready with a status as pending. For all of the requests for the third party information the web service will create a folder on the server with a XML status file and if the .pdf file is created it will be in this folder too.
Now comes the tricky part of the design. There is another application located on the same server that needs to be running in a loop that and every 30 second it needs to call the web service on it's own and if the server folder created by each new request does not contain the .pdf that program will make the web service call to retry the initial call and see if third party does now responds with the XML message that contains the valid information so it can create the .pdf and send a message back to the original client.
Now, if I am using a tomcat server what type of application should I create that does the 30 second looping? The server does have a MySQL database. How should I have the 30 second looping application communicate with the web service? Finally, if the looping application does make a successful call to the web service what is the best way to cause a trigger from the looping application to make the web service send the successful response to the original calling client?
Finally, if the looping application does make a successful call to the web service what is the best way to cause a trigger from the looping application to make the web service send the successful response to the original calling client? One note is that the 30 second loop must scan the new request folder tree and retry for any of the requests that have not succeeded.

This is not a Java issue, so it's not likely that the people who would most likely be able to answer the question will see it. I would suggest you repost it in a more visible forum: QA perhaps, or Design & Architecture.

What is the proper section of the forums to add this post? I need help here.

I am not sure, but somewhere in the Web Development group would make a lot more sense than here.

Is there way to export my java code to exe which can be used to run in the computers which has no java environment
If there is no way kindly suggest me the commercial exe converter which is trustworthy.

Hello Guys!
First of all, i apologise for my English, but i'm Greek ... you know....
Today i start reading about java. i'm not a programmer and i don't know if this comunity can help in this case or if is for only programmers.
I think that Books, pdf's and youtube tutorials are useless for someone who want to learn programming.
So i started with Netbeans - UI, a simple window with 2 buttons.
One button must shut down the pc.
The other button in an "about" button. I want to press it and to have a window with a message that describes my first attempt to make a simple java application.
So, i designed the window, i program the first button to shut down my pc with this code i found on the internet :
private void jButton2ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
Runtime runtime= Runtime.getRuntime();
try {
Process proc=runtime.exec("shutdown -s -t 0");
} catch (Exception ex) {
javax.swing.JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, ex.getMessage());
and now i want to create the "about" pop up message for the second button.
After that, i want to install and run this app on my pc AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW CAN I DO THIS.
Can you guys help me??
(i'm sorry if i'm off topic, but i really want to learn programming and i found the codeacademy - books - youtube tutorials ecc so useless. I want to learn this language creating real things in real windows with UI and run those things on my pc. I hate the "hello World" examples.)
