Hi,
Can somebody please tell me if Linux supports the UTF-16 encoding format for Unicode? All links I have found seem to indicate that Unicode on linux == UTF-8. Any links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

The Linux kernel treats all files as streams of bytes, it doesn't know anything about character encodings. Applications and libraries running under Linux may support various character encodings, including UTF-8 and/or UTF-16. For example, the GNU C library supports a huge number of encodings that can be listed by the iconv --list command.
The iconv() [^] function may be used to convert between character encodings in a program.

Thank you!
I am right now using the GTK+2.0 with Pango. Since Pango already has built-in support for UTF-8 and all wchar functions are present in libc my life is pretty good. I Finally got the program to render unicode characters.
But glyph combining for some indic fonts is really bad!
Wish there were some tutorials for pango though!

Hi, I wish to develop a suitable setup package that installs a Protocol driver (NDIS) on all network adapters.
I found some trial software that create setup packages however I am having a problem finding one that automates network protocol driver installation.
Kind Regards,
Dave

Hello All,
I have two netowrks servers (domain servers) running in my office site
with windows 2003 on 192.168.1.*/255.255.255.0
and windows 2000 server on 192.168.0.*/255.255.255.0
both have same subnet mask.
My question:
Is it possible to have these both available and running like a normal windows networking as if there was only one domain server networking?
I am not big networking guy, but i can click so any instructions will be usfull
Both servers have, active directory, DNS, Application Services

What do you mean by running like a normal windows networking? You want both server could be able to communicate with each other while is has a difference network id? If so, you need to use router device to connect both network segment.

As you mention, there is only one domain server but you also declare that your both server has both active directory... Active directory could only exist when you promote your standalone server to a domain controller. Could you clarify about what you mean?

I've installed active directory on both servers and both are domain controllers. so i have two different domains and domain controllers running in the network with different IP address scopte.
Both Servers are connected in to the same network (same wire netowrk)

Ok, based on your previous post[^] you will need to have a router device which connect between these two network. Then you will be able to communicate from one network ID to another network ID.

Assuming that both are connected to the same physical network, then you would open network properties, go to tcp/ip, open advanced, and add the address for the other network i.e. 192.168.x.x
Then if you want to use data from one or the other set up trusts.
Cheers

Generally, power user also have the right to install an application on the computer. But in the above information, I think your application might require another built-in account with have a complete right to do anything the computer. The best way to do that is use the secondary logon (right click and choose run as command) with administrative account and set up an application.

What do you mean from here? Please complete your description and try to ask a question again.

Try to start your computer in safe mode environment. And try to run anti-virus to scan for the virus name. If it is not possible, isolate your infection machine from the network and an go to another clean machine to access the internet to download any cleaning tool which is free for use. The purpose is try any method to detect the virus name. Once you got the virus name you could use google to search for the specifi method to clean the virus.

at a guess, the dos apps are printing to lpt1, instead of whatever windows uses to communicate with a network printer.

Make sure that user name and password that you use to login has a right to install a device driver on your PC. Check it with your system administrator.

I understand now, As I use Win Xp Workstation, when I loged in my computer with At this computer as option (not At domaine SNCC-Internet) i have see that I was not right to see the printer on the server. After correct that, IT works now when I am loged with At this computer option; but is I am loged with my domaine(SNCC-internet) I can't map LPT1. But there is same thing that i don't understand. When I am loged with Administrateur in my domaine, the map works.
I want to know what thing is incorrect with others users because all are administrateurs of my station?
