You could, but that would probably take you about 3 months worth of coding and testing. Or, you can just do it using Access and its SQL Server Upsizing Wizard, in about a minute.

You can't, give up now, just use DTS.

Does anyone know which Api i can use in vb.net to replicate the ms access query design table.
The box which holds the table name and items.

There isn't one in the .NET Framework. You'll either have to find a third party control that does it (I don't know of any off the top of my head), or write one yourself.

Judging that someone gave you a 1 for score, I'd say the OP didn't care for your answer. Can't make em all happy.

Hi
I want to display the message in the following event procidure when a message is received by creating a control dynamically e.g. textbox to display the message. But the control is not created even after the event raises. Where is the bug in my code?
Private Sub MessageReceivedEventHandler(ByVal data As String) Handles remote.MessageReceived
Dim txt As New TextBox
txt.Size = New Size(55, 25)
txt.Location = New Point(x, y)
txt.Name = "txtServer"
txt.Text = data
Controls.Add(txt)
End Sub
Thanks

Won't work reliably is MessageReceivedEventHandler isn't raised on the main thread.

Don't ask the same question in the same day. Your original post was only 10 hours old.
On top of what Luc said, you may also have to check your code to see if your changing the X and/or Y locations appropriately. It may be creating the new TextBoxs (a very inefficient design I might add!) and placing them all in the same location, under the first TextBox that was created.

Hi guys,
I'm trying to find the difference between two dates, like this '2009/05/25 10:00:00AM' and '2009/05/25 11:00:00AM', The difference here is 1 hour. How do i achieve that in VB?
Please assist
Thanks

In .NET the DateTime class has a Subtract method which yields a TimeSpan.

Hi thanks, i needed VB equivalent of that. Came orite though

Ok i got it.
Dim testTime1 as variant
testTime1 = DateDiff("n", Now, "2009/05/25 11:00:00 AM")
Thanks

use the substring function
example
time = 2009/05/25 10:00:00AM and time2 = 2009/05/25 11:00:00AM
thus
subtring.time(11,1) this captures the value of 10 and also do the same to time2
just subtract the two substring you will always get the correct hour.
hope you will get the picture

Not really that will give you 1 (you have length at 1)
Also consider the following:
time1: 12AM
time2: 1PM
difference = -11 hours ???
Using substrings for calculating date differences is a very bad method. There will always be a case that doesn't work.

This is the worst answer ever, not only is it a really bad way of doing it but you also did it wrong.

Ditto. Why make life hard when the functionality is already built into the framework?

Hi Try This One..
Dim FirstDate As Date = System.DateTime.Now<br />
Dim SecondDate As Date = System.DateTime.Now.AddHours(2)<br />
Dim ts As TimeSpan = SecondDate.Subtract(FirstDate)<br />
Dim DiffHour As Double = ts.TotalHours<br />
MessageBox.Show(DiffHour)

In the future, specify in your questions that you're using VB6. If you don't, VB6 is so old that everyone will assume that you're using VB.NET. It's code is so vastly different from VB6, it's useless to you.

Hi All,
I am creating Forms and Control at Runtime and I want to save this status of Exe. Is it possible to Update EXE directoly.
I wana create application according to user choice without using any database.
If you can think then I Can.

Search for applicationsettings vb.net or user settings vb.net.
Those should set you on the right path.

You cannot modify the .EXE. You're going to have to alter your design to save the information required to recreate these forms/controls. Later, your app would have to load this information, parse it, and use the data to recreate the forms/controls as you're doing now.
