As it's a constant, the value is copied into the code that uses it when it's compiled. You have to recompile the code that uses it for the change to take effect.

There doesn't have to be any. The build settings for the solution configuration contains the output path, which you can change to anything you like.
ghumman63 wrote: and all other referenced assemblies are also in the bin folder
Each reference has a setting whether it should be copied to the output path or not. Framework references and GAC references are not copied, other references (files and projects) are.
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.

I am a new to the world of VB.Net and programming in general. I am attempting to add a very basic undo / redo feature to a paint type application that uses a shape (line, box, circle, etc) collection object. I am lost as to how to implement this feature. Can anyone provide some basic ideas? Thank you.

Do a google search on: "VB.Net"+Undo+Redo
may your code be error free.

We are integrating different systems into one solution, each system is consisting of one project and we are using source safe to maintain our codes. we are having problems in downloading one project for each programmer, how can we distribute each project without downloading the whole solution.
for example, we have 2 programmers and 2 dependency projects, let's say programmer A and programmer B, project A and project B, respectively. Those projects are dependencies of project C. We are avoiding each programmer to download both project A and B.

I am trying to read a list of PointPairList points and put them into an array. I want to perform some math functions on the list of points. Also I am only going to want the y points in the list. Wonder if that is possible? The y points are values and the x points are just points for time.

I'm writing a small app in Access using VB. I need to loop through all of the control names in the form and then delete the one in which the control name is "Title", and which is a label.
'Suppose all declarations are already made'
For Each ctl In frm.Controls<br />
If ctl.ControlType = acLabel Then<br />
If ctl.name = "Title" Then<br />
ctl.?????? - removing/deleting step<br />
End If<br />
End If<br />
Next ctl
I don't know how to actually delete the controls. I can ADD controls and EDIT them OK, but deleting them is misleading me. Any ideas? Thanks.

That's not VB. It's Access VBA.

Actually, I've seen VBA questions here before. VBA is more VB than it is SQL, I'd say the problem is that we really don't have a 'right' forum for this question.

Just guessing... but isn't frm.Controls a collection? If so, you should be able to delete from it?

I am working on a class project and want to make sure I am on track. Right now, I have a single Access Database with nine tables. In the project, I have one binding source and one dataset. I also have a Binding Source and a TableAdapter for each table. Is this way it is supposed to work, or I doing something very wrong?
If anyone has a few good current articles I would appreciate it. All I found on google was for vb6 or SQL.
Thanks

That's one way of doing it. The 'right' way to do any sort of DB code is to have a seperate dll to handle all database access, and to write methods for each database call you're likely to make. This would not involve any sort of binding sources, you'd write actual code to connect and call database procedures.
However, for a class project, the way you're doing it will work just fine, and be a lot less work.

I am trying to use the Visio Drawing Control in a vb.net windows application but keep getting an error everytime I try to drag the control onto my form. I am using VS2003 and I have Visio 2003 installed on my machine. I have added the control 'Microsoft Visio 11.0 Drawing Control' to my toolbox. Whenever I try to drag this control onto my form I get the following two errors:
'An unspecified error occured' and then
'Unspecified error'
I have tried to uninstall/reinstall Visio 2003, the Office 2003 PIA's and nothing seems to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

I think I may have figured out why this is happening. When I installed Visio 2003 (months ago) I never bothered to register it. For a while I was able to use this drawing control on other applications with no issues. After a certain amount of time or amount of times used visio will disable some of its functionality until it is registered. Because I was not actually using visio I did not notice this. The drawing control must have been encompassed within the functionality that was retricted. Once I registered visio I was able to use this control once again. Thank you to all the people who tried to help.
Thanks
Matt

Hi!

While I am processing data I want to populate listview box (Which is out of aspx file) and also the progressbar.
How could I referance to a listviewbox and progressbar inside an aspx file?
Thanks!

You can't, they are not web controls. Does this mean you're writing a website and are asking in the wrong place ? Or do you have a forms app that somehow runs an asp.net site locally as well ?

I have a local web page. It is not web site. The web page is asp.net based but the problem is I have embeded this aspx web page in my windows application's inside. The application is written with vb.net. Therefore I assumed that there should be a way to reference any object in the application regardless of whereever they are.
In this case I have performed a search in the database in aspx file and at same time I want to populate the listview box with some of these data and also show the progress bar which are in Windows application but not in aspx page.
Thank You!

The only way to embedd a web page in a winforms app so you can see it, is to have a web browser control inside your form. At this point, what you've got is kind of stupid, because suddenly your web form is disconnected from the rest of your app ( you would need inter process communication to talk between the ASP.NET project and the forms app, and you need IIS on any machine that runs this app, and finally, what you can put on your web page is limted compared to a forms app, including, as you're finding, that you can't easily put forms controls on the web page.
Basically, I'd say your design is broken. Why are you embedding a locally run web page in your app ?
