yes , i even wrote an Article on Windows Service check this, i think again you have to make sure that the Terget is "Any" because there might be a Problem if you built your service on 32 bit and you want to run it on a 64bit

No, I'm running on the 32-bit server 2003. Any idea why I have problem when my service run on the 32-bit Server 2003. Pls help. I've NO problem at all when run on windows XP.
I know if it is 64-bit, there is some difference!!

My program is simple:
1) it read whether any record in a table inside SQL server
2) if yes, it will take the parameters form the record and send them to crystal report.
3) my program then print the report directly to the printer.
4) it will then delete the record from the table.
5) wait again for new record.
THAT IT !!!
It runs in windows XP -- perfectly.
Bit in win 2003 or 2008 -- it utterly fails.
PLS HELP...

when i insert a new record into the table, no print out at all!
The record still inside the table after long, long time.
So I know it is NOT working at all ...

So your Service fails in this Step

Debug it from your VS, as you know Services are not debuged like other apps , you have to attch the Process, and check what it does and where it stops doing what you want. Because there might be an Error.

If you install visual studio on your server, you can find the service process and attach VS to it, you can then set breakpoints and debug your code.

Because my Server 2008 is running inside the virtual PC, I cannot debug it the normal way.
Is there other way to find out why the service is not doing as like when it is running in XP??

No, you are utterly, utterly wrong. You can install VS in your virtual PC and debug it exactly as I said.

Ask the people who wrote that library and consult the documentation on your phone, and/or see if there is an SDK for your phone.
The question, as you've asked it, is impossible to answer because you haven't supplied any detail as to the O/S your phone is using, modem of the phone, what software it's running, where you got that .DLL from, the doc's on it, nothing...

Send the appropriate command to the COM port the modem is connected to (Hint: System.Io.Ports namespace) and parse the response. I haven't used a modem in about 12 years, so I couldn't tell you what the command is. Consult the documentation on the modem.

No VB6 code is going to work in VB.NET, it's a whole new language.
System.IO is the namespace you need.
Directory.GetFiles will get you the files in a directory. Or Folder.GetFiles, one or the other, I forget. Then the FileInfo class is how you get info about a file, such as it's size and last modified date.

The Replace method on the string class can replace the $ with an empty string. Then you can use double.TryParse.
