Hi,
I have a MFC application. When I run the .EXE from a command
prompt, and if I want help (eg. xcopy /?), can I get control
of the command prompt window to print the message over there?
I tried using AllocConsole(), but that opens a new console.
I want to do it on the same command line.
I am aware of AttachConsole() which needs SDK and will work for OS XP onwards. Unfortunately mine is WIN 2000 server and Visual studio 6.
Can anyone help me in this regard.

If you are running it from a command prompt then all output should automatically go to that window. Perhaps you could clarify your problem.

When you run an exe from the command prompt, the command prompt IS your default standard output. Your question doesn't exactly make sense.

I would say that the chances of successfully writing code to do exactly that if one doesn't already understand how to do it are very, very close to zero.
I suggest you start by learning, in detail, how TCP and IP work.

I have a requirement of sending a string value to a specific ipAddress but the string value should enclose with two Ascii Null Values.
Eg: NULL + message + NULL
I managed to send the message using sck->Socket->SendText(Edit1->Text); but I don't know how to send a NULL value through the SocketClient component.
I'm fairly new to C++. If any one can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's just character zero, does the SendText method allow that?

Do you have any idea of sending a NULL value? It does not need to be the Send Text method.. Any method that allows to send a data packet with two NULL characters enclose with will do...

The Socket object should be having another method to send raw bytes instead of text.
Using that you should be able to send NULL.
If not, you could try to send the \0 character - "\0MyText\0" whose length will be 8.

I am looking for c++ code that can load a .wav audio file and output a .csv text file. Then convert it back again. That is wav-to-csv and csv-to-wav. This is an unusual conversion process so any help is welcome.

.wav is a binary file and .csv is a text file.
So what is the conversion that you would like to do?
You cannot normally convert audio data to text data and vice versa.
So you need to be more specific on your question.
The only conversion that I can think of is to extract the tag information from a .wav file to a .csv file.
But then again the reverse would not be possible because there is no audio data in a .csv file.
The next thing that you can do is a simple rename of the extension from .wav to .csv, but that doesn't make any sense either.

The WAV file format is relatively simple to parse. You may have a look at the specifications (as starting point, you may check out its Wikipedia page[^]. Once you are able to parse it you have to decide how to generate a meaningful (for instance an 'easy for the human to read') format for putting all the information in the CSV file.

Here is the only code I can find for writing a .Wav file. This is python which I know nothing about. I have .csv files of data that when plotted draw a mandala. I want to save the same file to a .wav format so I can play the mandala as sound. Is writing a wav file possible with C++ code or do I need a library?
