I have a MFC Ribbon application that I developed on 32bit system. I have statically linked to MFC.
My question is whether this application will run fine on 64bit XP/Vista?

It will if you have all the necessary dependencies.
32-bit apps run in the WOW64 shell under 64-bit OSs

Please tell me what I have to do to make sure that the app runs fine on 64bit OS..
Thanks for reply

If the app runs fine on a 32-bit OS, it is guaranteed to run fine as it is (most of the time) on a 64-bit OS. The app. would still be running as a 32-bit application.

Unfortunately my application crashes on 64 bit OS. Guess I'll have to debug on a 64 bit to find the problem. Anyways thanks for the replies.

I am using ON_NOTIFY message handler for spin button control. But it is giving an error under windows 95 DDK build environment. Is there any other message handler for spin button control...??

This message seems strangely familar...

Hello,
I'm trying to develop a c++ application and please i would know how to set the font of my popup menu.
If there is someone can help me.
Thank you.

Try using ownerdrawn menu items.

As code-o-mat hints, there is no SetMenuItemFont or SetMenuFont command. And there's no font property of the menu resource type.
You'll have to do some owner-draw menu stuff, which can be painful. Luckily, there are several good articles on codeproject that can help.
I did think that you could change the menu font using SystemParametersInfo temporarily, but that is (a) fragile, and (b) might change the font the menu bar at the top of all the window... so not such a good solution, just for a pretty menu.
Good luck, you've got a bunch of work ahead of you!

Hi,
I am using spin control. The message map "ON_NOTIFY" for spin control is not supported by 9x OS. The build environment used is Windows 95 DDK. How to solve this problem??
|
|
|
|
|
There are several viable options, which includes, but not limited to using third party UI tools like CodeJock UI library, which works even on Windows 95.
But I'll recommend upgrading to your OS to a minimum of Windows 2000. Trust me, you'll see a whole new, brighter world.

Please can u tell me any one of the way to support spin button control even for Window 95 DDK build environment. Because ON_NOTIFY message is showing as undeclared identifier by windows 95 build environment.

I am not certain about your scenario. But trying to use WM_NOTIFY may help you.

Actually I have used ON_NOTIFY_RANGE message map for other os and it is working fine. But same thing when I used it for 98x. While building itself it is an error as displayed as undeclared identifier for both ON_NOTIFY_RANGE and CSpinButtonCtrl class.

I think you can use WM_NOTIFY[^]
See the internals of ON_NOTIFY_RANGE in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\MFC\Include\AFXMSG_.H
#define ON_NOTIFY_RANGE(wNotifyCode, id, idLast, memberFxn) \
{ WM_NOTIFY, (WORD)(int)wNotifyCode, (WORD)id, (WORD)idLast, AfxSig_vwNMHDRpl, \
(AFX_PMSG)(void (AFX_MSG_CALL CCmdTarget::*)(UINT, NMHDR*, LRESULT*))&memberFxn },
