What about documentation [^]?

How to read Bitmap file using BITMAPFILEHEADER structure. Can any one give some guideline regarding this ?
All the info you need to parse and load a BMP file is linked to in the
BITMAPFILEHEADER documentation. Here's the link:
Bitmap Storage[^]
There's all kinds of examples around, probably many here on Code Project Dot Com.

i used that BITMAPFILEHEADER structure, but bfType variable in that structure is not giving proper value, i.e it is giving 0 instead of "BM".please further give some more solution in this.
"please further give" some more info on what you're trying to do.
Actually i m trying to change the bitmap of an exe externally without making any changes in resource file(.rc) of that application.now i m able to retrieve the bitmap file data as well as exe bitmap data, but unable to change exe bitmap.it errazing original bitmap of an exe, when i m calling UpdateResource function of MFC.
If you can't get the correct values for the BITMAPINFOHEADER structure (the 'BM' signature), then the resource you're trying to edit is probably not a bitmap or it is compressed.
Then the structure isn't valid or you're doing something wrong.
You'll need to post the code you're using to read the header structure(s).

Design Patterns are solutions to common programming problems and the term "Design Pattern" is used to describe various common solutions. A good C coded book is Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software[^].
Also, I'm currently writing some articles about design patterns and providing some good practical examples, however, these are in C# (you won't have problems understanding C# syntax if you're familiar with C and C++).
My first is about Implementing the State Design Pattern[^]. I will be writing a lot more of these.
Hope you can visit and please feel free to comment or ask questions.

Hi all,
I am working on password protection for my application,
for which I am using just a simple XOR encryption.
The value written in Registry is different from what I read.
If the CString contains the values, 0xF2,0xF4,0xEF,0xE8,0xED
the read values are, 0xF2,0xF4,0xEF,0xE8,0x3F
The last value read is wrong.
This is happening on Korean Systems.Working fine on a system having english OS.What might be the problem.
Please tell me how can I overcome the problem.
Regards,
Sunil Kumar
