Hey...
I have an MFC application where I have added the first recordset for the application.Now I face problem in adding second recordset for the MFC which means to create new class for retrieving the variables from other database table.I have tried to follow the MSDN links and tutorial on this but as I follow the steps,I faced problem in creating new class.For example I tried to create new class CSubjectSet but it return the error which states file SubjectSet.cpp and CSubjectSet.h does not exist.
Please help if you encountered this problem before or known the cause of this problem.
Thanks,
Lee

do not use CRecordSet which is the worst in the world.
u need to know how to use database driver (or MFC classes) to read/write data from/to database.
In my opnion, the best are Cdc... (a set of classes, i.e. CdbDatabase, CdbRecordset etc).
please note: second char is lower case: Cdb..., not CDb...
the head file and lib, dll files are available in VC 5.0 but i can not find them in VC 6.0.
according to Microsoft Docs, database issues of VB is based on these classes.
long way to go to really understand these classes, but you have to go if u really want to do some real things.

Hi Micheal,
your sample is for files only: when i right-click a folder on windows explorer, the menu does not appear on shell menu.
i hope the pop-up menu can be applied to any folder, single file or multiple files and folders.
cheers

Hi all,
I want to declare a pointer-to-functions array.
Ho can I do that?(For calling them by index)?
Best Wishes,
Thanks.

Pls Clarify : Signature of each Function would be same or Different.
if function signature are same then here is small code
typedef void (*Hello)(void);
void Func1(void)
{
cout<<"hello you are in function one"<<endl;
};
void Func2(void)
{
cout<<"hello you are in function two";
}
void Func3(void)
{
cout<<"hello you are in Function three ";
}
void main()
{
Hello hi[3];
hi[0]=(Hello)&Func1;
hi[1]=(Hello)&Func2;
hi[2]=(Hello)&Func3;
(hi[0])();
(hi[1])();
(hi[2])();
}
I am too finding the way for calling function with different signature by same array using Index

The cast isn't needed and should be avoided as it can lead to bad programming habits.
hi[0]=&Func1; // Works as well...

Yeah Sir,
you are right,I got this bad habit from the ATL and now i am so much habitual to CASTING that Some time I even cast this way too.
int i=(int)0;

I 've created a single document database application in VC++.The problem is that I can not make out how to make an "exit" button which when hit will close the application immediately(i.e,MainFrame will be closed).

use this api PostQuitMessage(0); or this->SendMessage(WM_CLOSE,0,0);

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out exactly how this contexthelp thing is supposed to work.
If I create an MDI or SDI app, it's all "just there" and I can do what I like with it. However I'm currently working on a Dialog Only app, which while giving me the cute little question mark in the title bar beside the minimize box doesn't seem to have anything else built in.
Can anyone give me a few pointers for getting that little questionmark to actually do something? I can't find anything in the msdn library (it only ever seems to mention MDI and SDI). Just something along the lines of:
Insert this code here - it does this
Insert that code there - it does that
Thanks in advance

Okay, getting there...
The WinHelp (pHelpInfo->dwContextId, HELP_CONTEXTPOPUP); does what it's supposed to (tested by simply putting it in a button), however I still can't get the questionmark on the dialog itself to do anything. I'm starting to feel it's missing something it probably shouldn't be.
The help for WS_EXCONTEXTHELP says:
Includes a question mark in the title bar of the window. When the user clicks the question mark, the cursor changes to a question mark with a pointer. If the user then clicks a child window, the child receives a WM_HELP message.
However, NOTHING happens when I click on the questionmark - no cursor change, nothing.
Am I missing something obvious or is my dialog just insane?
