You've obviously got a CToolBar control being created somewhere (In your CMainFrame, or Dialog).
You can use:
CToolBar::GetToolBarCtrl
CToolBarCtrl& GetToolBarCtrl( ) const;
Return Value
A reference to a CToolBarCtrl object
Then:
CToolBarCtrl::GetToolTips
CToolTipCtrl* GetToolTips( ) const;
Return Value
A pointer to the CToolTipCtrl object associated with this toolbar or NULL if the toolbar has no associated tool tip control.
And Bob's your uncle.

I still don't understand. Will you please give me more details? Where can I put the TTS_ALWAYSTIP in?
There is not CTooltipCtrl in my project.

No there isn't, but I showed you how to get from your CToolbar object [*] to its
CToolBarCtrl child object, to its child CToolTipCtrl object. You can then
use ModifyStyle(Ex?) to set the TSS_ALWAYSTIP style.
Read my previous message, and look the commands up in MSDN for exact details.
Iain.
[*] You must have one of these, or you wouldn't have a toolbar to worry about!

There is an article around here somewhere on how to find out what process is locking a DLL file... but I don't know if there even exists a way to see who's locking any other type of file. I wish I knew, but have never been able to figure that one out...

Hey guys,
desperate need of help..I am using oleloadpicture to create a pointer to type ipicture and am using oleloadpicture for doing this,i pass in a pointer to a stream of type istream (this pointer seems to be ok before its passed in,i.e.,its not corrupt or anything).
So,oleloadpicture works fine for sometime and i get a valid ipicture type pointer from it and display it on the screen of my dialog but after some time it just freezes/hangs,i.e., the program never comes out of oleloadpicture, just seems to be waiting there for ever.
Does anyone have any clues about this that might help me,I would really appreciate any helpful comments on this.
Thanks

Where can I find reference implementation or some sample codes for CPRM(content protection for recordable media) algorithm? Can anyone help?
Information about CPRM can be find here,

Either C or C++ implementation is OK.
Thanks in advance,

Didn't edsonw provide you with an acceptable response here? At the very least, you could contact info@lmicp.com.

Thanks, DavidCrow buddy!
That is not all the source codes (only a basic module) and what I want is total implementation reference source code.
Can you help?
Have a wonderful weekend,

I have programed a application which has a on screen keyboard which plays all the piano notes when the button is pressed but i was wondering is there a way of making the keyboard sound different musical instruments when the keys are pressed? I have used hexadecimal values for the normal piano keys.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

You need to send a program (or patch) change for the channel to select a new instrument. GM says that a piano is program#1, for example.

Any Ideas on how to go about doing it? Or where best to look.

Well, presumably, you're sending NOTE ON/NOTE OFF messages at the moment.
1001nnnn 0kkkkkkk Note On event.
0vvvvvvv
1000nnnn 0kkkkkkk Note Off event.
0vvvvvvv
where nnnn is 0-15, being the MIDI channel number.
You should be able to change to a different patch by sending
1100nnnn 0ppppppp
ppppppp is your patch number, less one; where 1 = Acoustic Piano, 15 is Tubular Bells, 22 is Accordion.
Check out this[^]for a list of patches, assuming your MIDI target device is GM compatible.
You don't say how you're sending the messages;
If you're using midiOutShortMsg, then you need something like:
0x0000CnPP as the data to send, where n is your channel, and PP is your patch (0..126 or 0-7E in hex)
Hope that helps.

I want to manage user accouts on an active directory(2000 server) through Internet.How can I do it with VC 6?
|
|

why using VC 6?
use the management console!
Don't try it, just do it!

because I want to make a program for someone who don't know much about it,and the program would have friendly interface and be easy to operate remotely.Unfortunately I know little about the interface of active directory.So I need some help.

Hi.
I have started a MDI project. I have a view derived from CFormView.
In that form there are a few textbox and buttons. I want to call another view, (derived from CFormView), when the user press a button.
In fact, there is a button "Next" and a button "Previous", when the user press "Next" I want to show other form, and so on.
How can I do that?.
How can I managed multiples views, (derived from CFormView, CScrollView, etc), so I can show it, (or hide it), from differents events?.
In all these views the user fills some fields to finally update or query a SQL Database, but I dont have problems with that.
Thank you and regards from Argentina.
Demian.

I've been trying for ages now to design a simple chat client based on dialogs and Csocket with MFC, which allows clients to send simple text messages to a server. I've read most of the articles here, but no matter what, i still cant seem to get my program to run. I've examined the chatter and chatsrvr examples that come with visual studio, but when i try to design my program along those basics, it still doesnt run/build. can anyone help me out?

doing a chat client is not very difficult (even if it can become if you want to apply correctly the IRC protocol...
i wait for your response to give you (or to try to) more details.

for the protocol, search on the net for the RFC1459.
I found a good page about this, but.... in french fortunately, i'm french so i don't have translation problem, but i aggree, that will be hard (very hard) for you ! lol
anyway, you can have a look if you want at this :
http://www.csadmin.net/rfc1459.php
About sockets, i don't knom myself about CSocket, but but you can also have a look at "Beej's Guide to Network Programming", Originally made for Unix/Linux socket programming. Csocket and Linux Sockets are not so far... that can be very interresting to read it (PDF format), but i've lost the address. you'll have to search for it once again
