I have an application which has two Windows. Now, the Second Window is created on a separate thread. The class for the second Window has a function called CreateEdit() which creates an Edit control. This edit control has to be created on the fly and hence cannot be created in OnCreate(). Now when I create an Edit control in OnCreate() the Edit control is created fine and on the same thread as the Second Window, but when I create the Edit control dynamically through the functions, the Edit control is created on the thread of the First Window. Please note that the First Window makes a call to CreateEdit() to create an Edit control dynamically in the second Window. I use function pointers to make a call to CreateEdit() from the first Window. Is there anyway, I can make sure that the Edit on the secodn window is created on the same thread as the Second Window?

Windows are created in whichever thread calls CreateWindow. It's strongly recommended that this is the same thread that the parent window is on, but I don't think this is actually required.

When you create a suspended process, that process has entered it's main(), ie the variables are uninitialized so there is not yet a commandline to get.

Create a temporary file,write your data into the file and delete it later when it's task is done.
Upload the file using the CFtpConnection::PutFile()

hello sir!! thanks for replying. i can upload a file onto a ftp server using Putfile. and the code i have written does exactly the same. but i want to modify it. i now want to store the data directly onto the FTP server without storing in a file in the local machine. how can i do this??? i have written some code that creates a file on the FTP server but i am not able to store data onto that file. what has to be done??

i was close on that i was thinking it was ShellExec close but no cookie. now ive been searching msdn for several hours on how to pass a command
ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt
into the cmd window but i havent found anything on how to do it. ive run it in a batch file then used my program to open the txt file but i dont want to use 2 different things to open the txt file

Displays a window in its most recent size and position. This value is similar to SW_SHOWNORMAL, except the window is not actived.
SW_SHOWNORMAL
Activates and displays a window. If the window is minimized or maximized, the system restores it to its original size and position. An application should specify this flag when displaying the window for the first time.

I'm using the GetWindowThreadProcessId function, but for some or other reason the function causes an exception. This is what I'm doing...

You're using an uninitialised pointer ("lpdwProcessId"). Try this instead:

return ProcessId;

Again , here you are passing invalid memmory to function GetWindowThreadProcessId.
Use DWORD dwProcessId; instead and pass its address as parameter.
