I tryed this way only on XP.
I hope that this isn't a problem related to the OS.
Elseway try on XP if the procedure is correct and then ask somewhere how solve this bug with Vista.

No I am not using vista. I am using Win2000.

I used the Following command line in Shortcut and it works.

msiexec /x "D:\Gaurang\installer.msi"

But don't know how to put this shortcut in the Setup project.

in my vc++ 6.0 project, i want to know the list of activex controls used.
is it possible.kindly raise your views on this point.
why i wanted this?
long ago(1.5 years) i developed one project and used some activex controls in that.
now i have opened that project in some other system and i am getting the error regarding the missing activex controls.
i can trace them back if i can know the list of activex controls i have used.

Open the .rc file of your project in any text editor ex notepad.
search for some key similar to "{########-####-####-####-############}" where # is 0-9 or A-Z
Open Registry using Regedit and Search this key in your registry.
If this key does not exist, then this is the com component that is missing.
You can search the component on your old machine using same technique.

the idea of searching for the components using classid is appreaciable.
but i was looking if somewhere the classnames(activex control names) are specified in the project.
because even in my old machine they maynot be registered.
kindly look into this.

You can check the wrapper class for each ocx control. Sometimes it may help you find out which control does it point to.

First create the dialog box.On the dialog box create the edit box and create the group box,on the group box keep the unlimited radio buttons and create the buttons inforent of each radio button.
create 3 buttons on the dialog box of which
1=assign button
2=ok button
3=cancle button

First user should use assign button and after than cursor should move on edit box.Whatever you write on edit box each should go to respective radio buttons.If it is allready assign numbers are there,they should reflect on the radio buttons.
When the users work is complete the cursor should come on ok button.Agian it goes to cancel button.

CListCtrl & LVN_ITEMACTIVATE

Hi to all,
I'm having trouble with CListCtrl. When I click on list it works only if I click on a small region on far left side.
One member of this forum advised me to use LVN_ITEMACTIVATE message. Problem is that I cant find it, I'm using VC++ 6.0!?

You can use class wizard to add a member function for message LVN_COLUMNCLICK.
Now go to code and replace this message LVN_COLUMNCLICK with LVN_ITEMACTIVATE.
Its' done Smile | :)

In the creation or initialitation of your control you should tell the control to accept what you want.

Actually you dont need the m_nRowNum, but I do... to know the index of the selected element and use it to look for and other things.

Hi all,

If one looks in the eventviewer of Windows, there is a field called Event, which contains a number that idetifies the event. When I make use oif the struct EVENTLOGRECORD and one of it's members DWORD EventID; I receive a value of pevlr->EventID 536870913UL (0x20000001) , but in the event viewer the value is one. All other information is correct except this, am I doing something wrong, or you can I get hold / convert the EventID Variable.

I have written an ATL COM server in a DLL with merged proxy/stub using Visual Studio 2005. It can sometimes be used locally and other times remotely. Deploying locally is straightforward and I've now got a client using it that way. However I've been wading through all sorts of internet articles, discussions etc. about how to deploy, debug, and use the component remotely, but to no avail.

I need to be able to deploy and debug on a remote machine via peer-to-peer and/or ethernet switched networks, including guidance on how to configure the security correctly on Windows XP Prof. with SP 2. I've got to believe that somewhere there is a 'step by step' guide on how to do this, but I haven't found one yet.

Please can anyone help?
