1) please speak englisk properly
2) we don't do homework here. we only help people in specific problems, which they already started to fix themselves. here, i don't have the impression that you started to try using vectors by yourself firstly...

But if you only need milisecond to check for a time difference (for example how much msec elapsed between two points in your program), then it is much more easier to use GetTickCount[^]

for that I have included shlobj.h and shell32.dll in the project.
but still when I compile the project it gives the error as following
error C2065: 'IActiveDesktop' : undeclared identifier
I am using win32 dialog based Application.
Can anydody help me with the problem

Include wininet.h before your inclusion of shlobj.h

why dont you use SetCurSel() to select that item programatically.

I would have a look in the owner draw section of the list control area on codeproject.
It sounds like you should adapt one of the examples to (eg) make some lines with a yellow background.
