Hi,
At present I can get a list of printers on printServerA
The only thing which I require at present is to add these printers to machineServerA
Not sure how this is done.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks

Yes, briefly. It seems it is using command line but I would like to use c# code for this.
Thanks
This is what I have at present and the only thing is to add these printers to a remote machine, i.e. machineServerA
This is the code that I run locally (printServerA machine) and gets the installed printers.
PrintDocument prtdoc = new PrintDocument();
foreach (string strPrinter in PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters)
{
comboBox1.Items.Add(strPrinter);
}

This is done by executing the command in a subprocess. See this[^] article for instructions.

Hi,
I have been going through the link for command line that you sent initially.
I really do not think that this does what I am after.
Please refer to my first post which is something as follows:
I would like to run a c# code on printServerA which gets the list of printers locally and then it installs these printers on remote machines.
I have done the first part which I get the list of installed printers on printServerA but do not know how to add these printers to remote machines i.e. machineServerA
Thanks for your time

I believe the command's /c flag will allow you to target a remote machine.

Do you mean:
RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /ga /c\\machine /n\\machine\printer /j"LanMan Print Services"
if so then how can I modify it to suit my purpose?
Thanks

I am going to release a dll. But I am using some log files in that dll. Is this a good practice or not? Should I create log files or not????

You may want to consider using a configuration option to control logging.

it depends on your need for your application, if you have to log activities or error for further analysis then you put log files
basically if your application is 'product base' software and you need to make some improvements when application deployed in your clients, you need log files and log object must be set to do log or not in configuration of your application.
i do that for some my application so the my client can send me error log as email attachment to me or do it automatically when internet connection is establish. When we solve that problem we will deliver patch to our client.
NO BEST PRACTICE HERE JUST WHAT YOU HAVE TO IN YOUR APPLICATION
hope it helps.

If you get support calls, you'll probably want log files.

Hello all. I've got a question. How can I create a Word document from a byte array (byte[]) storing in the database and write the changed document back to the database without using any temporary files on the hard drive?
Thank's in advance for any suggestions and answers.

Is there any particular reason for that restriction?

It seems fairly arbitrary. Why is this a reqirement? I'm asking because what you request isn't possible without a lot of additional work as far as I can see. If I knew why that restriction is in place then it may be possible to come up with another acceptable solution.

You just want something to show the date? Go and look up the DateTime class, it should have everything you need and more.
