Hi everyone,
I want to know how to pass a parameter to a property in C#. I know how to do this VB.NET but not in C#.
In Vb.NET it looks:
Public Readonly Property Person(ByVal Id) as Employee
{
Get{
Return empObj(Id)
}
}
Intelligence is measured by common sense not by how many scholarly books you read.

|
|
|
|
private string myName;
public string GetName
{
get
{
return this.myName;
}
set
{
this.myName = value;
}
}

Hello,
I think it's not possible in C#.
What you whant is possible with a method.
public Employee GetPerson(int Id)
{
return empObj(Id);
}
All the best,
Martin

It looks a bit like an indexer property:
public Employee this[int id]
{
get
{
return this.personArray[id];
}
}
|
|
|
|
|
Ohhhhh
Forgot that!
Thanks

Recently i had the same problem.
It is documented that in C# it cannot be done except for indexers. There was a guy that implemented a trick with vb for the specified function and said it worked but i haven't tested it.
If I can find it again i will post it here if no one other does

Roman957 wrote: add six " " (white spaces) into a string by doing it like " " * 6
ofcourse no
" " is not a number so you can not multiply it by 6
you can use a for loop
<br />
int count = 6; <br />
String str;<br />
<br />
for( int i = 0; i < count; i++)<br />
{<br />
str += " ";<br />
}<br />
<br />
|
|
|
|
|
String.PadRight[^]
So it'll be something like str = str.PadRight(str.Length + 6) .
|
|
|
|
|
There is a constructor for the string class that you can use:
int count = 6;<br />
string spaces = new String(' ', count);
---
Year happy = new Year(2007);
|
|
|
|
|
you could create a FakeString class. add implicit casts between FakeString and String and also overload String * int, string *long. not forgetting to overload int * String and long * String.
It doesn't sound worth it in this instance but if " " was of type vector for instance, it might well be.

int count = 6;
char space = ' ';
StringBuilder st = new StringBuilder("Your String");
st.Append(space, count);

Hi,
I have created a setup project in Visual Studio 2005. This setup works fine on every system but it does not create the icon for the desktop and start menu shortcuts. Moreover, this behaviour is for some of the Win 2000 professional systems. On all other systems, it works fine. I have compiled the setup project on Win 2000 professional.
Also its Find Target and Change icon buttons are disabled on the property page of the shortcut.
Any help, suggestion, or link is highly desirable...
