You don't know which .NET version you are using? Huh?
Well if you can't use it, then you have .NET 1.1, otherwise .NET 2.0.
But you can also use DateTime.Parse() and catch the exception

Hi,
Use the try catch block !
try
{
DateTime.Parse(textBox1.Text)
// code if it is date !
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
//error code
}

Does your application need the default setup package ? means you can directly do the copy and run the program exe ? Is it possible in ur case ?

Hi,
Can you create your own setup application ? This app wont have any GUI and would only register the required dll's. You will run the new application instead of the default setup package.
I actually dont know the complete scenario on your side, thats why i can just guess and ask questions !

Hi,
I am trying to use a VB ocx control in C#.
I have done the following
1. Registered the ocx
2. Included the component in VS .Net IDE tool bar.
But when I try to drag and drop the control I am getting an error "Failed to import the ActiveX control. Please ensure it is registered properly."
Any idea why this is happening?
Note:
Internally the ocx control makes use of a C++ dll.
I am using .Net Visual Studio 2005

Try to create this component dynamicaly.
If it'll works, then it's bugs with form designer, else try to debug your component.
My english is not so good. Please, correct my errors.
Best regards, Alexey.

I tried this. It is not working.
Looks like there is some problem in creating the wrapper for the ocx.
After drag and drop, under Project->References the wrapper is not available. It simply shows the wrapper's name with a warning icon ( i.e.., the icon used to indicate that the reference is not available or not built).

Hi all,
I just need to know if/how it is possible to set a default printer, only temporary and then set it back to the original default printer. In this way i can do my print to the printer of my user's choice and set it back to their original default printer after the print has been succesfully printed.
Thank you in advance...

Hi guys,
In my program I want to view thumbnails.. But when the original image size goes up the program starts to freeze..
In my method I directly load the original image to an Image object and then using the GetThumbnail(....) method resize it and pass to another Image object. But it seems this is not an effective way !!
Is there ny idea, or trick or something else to increase this performance ?
I am open to any advice..
Best regards

Hello
Try to load the images themselves and resize them to the size you want -I heard alot about Thumbnails poor performance-.
Also try to load each image using a different thread. This would work like download accelerators, and will preserve you UI active.

I have visual studio 2003 installed.
Everything was working fine till now, but all of a sudden i am not able to open windows form in designer mode.
When i try to open it, i get the message <<an error="" occured="" while="" loading="" the="" document.="" fix="" error,="" and="" try="" document="" again.="" message="" follows:="" unspecified="" error.="">>
I tried closing the IDE and reopening, rebuliding (funny thing is it builds fine and the form gets displayed when i run the application), closing the solution and building form command prompt.
Nothing that I did fixed the issue.
Any idea anyone???

Hi Friend,
what you have to do open the code view if window which does not open in design mode
and check that the first class name in the namespace must be the class name of the form's class
i.e. it may be Form1 like that. Other classes should be below that.

I have same problem with ActiveX components on form.
But when I reopening VS2005 all works fine.
Maybe you trying to access some object before it's initizlisation ?
Analize your callstack.
My english is not so good. Please, correct my errors.
