The best way to get help on this is to show a live example of what I want.
Do this:
1) Download, extract and open the visual studio solution
2) Goto Form1.cs and select myUserControl1 (already added to the form)
3) Click the little arrow and the click "Insert new button"
4) Debug the solution.
Form1 will launch and you will see myUserControl1, however, the added button is missing.
The whole idea is to be able to add those buttons (the real thing I want to do is not just that but if I can get this to work, I'll get the other stuff too) in design-time and have them displayed on the form when debugging/running the application.
Here's a few download links for the respective solution:

Hello, I've searched but haven't found any topic to my problem.
I am now able to download mail with POP3, send mail with SMTP by C#.net
But I don't know how to forward a message in my mail box to another address. I thought of download email and resend it, but an email with large attachments would take alot of time to do that.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot for reading.

Pop3 will download the message to the client. You want to use IMAP (if that's available to you). IMAP can be manipulated on the server side so you don't have to download the large attachments first.
Search on IMAP to get a good understanding on how it's different than the pop3 protocol.

Can I specify a default value for a group in my regular expression so that if the group does not match I shall use that default value.
I can do by checking the returned groups in my own code But I want to know if this could be done using the Regex.match or somefin like that
o O º(`'·.,(`'·., ☆,.·''),.·'')º O o°
»·'"`»* *☆ t4ure4n ☆* *«·'"`«
°o O º(,.·''(,.·'' ☆`'·.,)`'·.,)º O o°

It seems not, and rightly so, the RegEx shouldn't return any characters that weren't in the original string. But, yeah, it would be handy in certain cases.

Hi all,
New to the code project and to C#, but excited to get started....
I have a relatively good programming background in C and C++ and I have been assigned the task of building a windows based GUI. After some research on the web I have decided to use C#.....does anyone have a good place for some reference as where to begin making the transition?
some links to some useful stickies or other forums?
any help greatly appreciated

Web links would be harder as I haven't come across many that are general in nature (most are focused on a particular technology or aspect of a technology). I'll try to put a list together of some of the ones I read regularly.

maybe if someone has come across a good tutorial or intuitive "mini project" that covers a good deal of C# basics, I always find with coding, doing is better than reading......

How about taking an existing (small) project that you worked on and porting it to C#? That gives you a project that you know how it should behave and are familiar with and already have a working version to compare against.

Hi,
I must be blind... but where can I (VS2003) define CompanyName, ProductName and ProductVersion in my application, as they are showed in System.Windows.Forms.Application.* ?

Hi!
Take a look at the AssemblyInfo.cs file - it's all in there. Not in braille , though...

Hi,
I have a strange problem with my project. I am writing a client application using C# to transfer files through SSH, using the SharpSSH library. The strange thing is the transfer of multiple files work if the application is always in focus. Once I switch windows (that is, put the application out of focus) and then come back to it, the next file transfer gives me a "Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of Object" error. I spawned a backgroundWorker thread to start the file transfer.
Please advise...thanks.

Have you run it through a debugger? Put break points on or near where the code blows up. This should tell you which object isn't assigned.
Are you updating GUI components from the worker / background thread?
Run through a debugger, and the code should break out at the error. Beyond that, post the snippet of code that is failing...

Well, the error will have occured somewhere in your code. And the debugger will have probably shown you where in the code that occurred.
You may wish to furnish us with some more information about your problem.

Hi,
from your scenario I would give it high probability the problem occurs in the main thread,
so watch your exceptions (I trust you dont throw them away); you might want to add an
overall try-catch (with a MessageBox.Show(myException.ToString()) in the static Main method.
I prefer this approach over Visual debugging since that might interfere with your scenario
to begin with.
