Hi all,
I have an app which starts and automates winword. Sometimes on error word doesn't close correctly and stays unmotivated and blocking in memory. This apps can not continue until word is cleaned from memory. I have no ideas where and how I can get these proc-ID's. But in an very useful app called "Process Explorer" you can see the relationship between the apps who called sub-apps (master - slave).
Who can show me a codesnippet, which returns the proc ID's of apps which were started from my (master) application. With this information I could kill the lazy blocking (word)-exe's.
Thanks for all your good ideas in advance.

Depending on how you are starting the process you might want to look at System.Diagnostics.Process
<br />
Process process = new Process();<br />
<br />
ProcessStartInfo processStartInfo = new ProcessStartInfo(executableFile, commandLine);<br />
process.StartInfo = processStartInfo;<br />
<br />
process.Start();<br />
<br />
int procId = process.Id;<br />

Hello everybody,
I want to connect a computer on one LAN to a computer on another LAN using a modem and a phone line (a HyperTerminal sort of thing).
I want to be able to dial a number from a list and send and receive messages and files, preferably with acknowledgement.
I also want the whole stuff in c# (v2003) using Windows Forms (GUI), not the console type.
Can anyone of you help me out with this or point me to a link where it might be available.
Thanks a lot.

To simulate a rubber i create an empty image then i place it on the zone of the Big image i want to cancel:
Image img = new Bitmap(20, 20); // 20 is the dimension of the rubber
then
rect2.Width = rect2.Height = 20;
g.DrawImage(img, rect1, rect2, unit);

hi
i want to create half of circle and close start and end of line and fill it . how to do that ????
please give me full detailes because i am beginner...
thanks

There are several ways to do it.
-> Draw a circle (with fill) and a Rectangle(with fill same color as background) over it (covering half the circle).
-> Look into FillPath and FillPie methods of the graphics object MSDN.
hope this helps...

Hello,
In my application (net2.0) I have a few threads. I want to stop the threads when the main form is closed. Now I'm not sure what I have to do.
Normally I would implement a IDisposable interface. In the form exists this function already and it is not virtual.
What is the best way to implement this? Which event I should use?

Hi
When you create your threads, set the IsBackground property to true.
When you close the app, the background threads are automatically terminated.

Hello,
Try to use FormClosing event (.net 2.0) of the form.

SetStyles(ControlStyles.Opaque, false);

I have a datagrid, user can choose which cols will printed. Ex : User choose 5 cols, the report will have 5 cols. How to do that in crystal report.
Regards.

If I'm not mistaken you have two ways of using Crystal Reports, Push and Pull, One of them can attach Datasets, making the reports more or less dynamic. Crystal Reports isn't really 'dynamic' as anyone would want it yet. Let's hope in the next version they will integrate it a little more with .net ways .
What you can do, with a little meddling is doing it via passing parameters to the report. I'm not sure what you'd like to do, but to make the reports dynamic we used to ask the parameters in our application. The application would than pass them to the report.
hope this helps

Crystal Reports is not very useful when it comes to these things. It is an absolutely terrible tool when it comes to doing normal things. I have several times had to create my own reports using print objects/GDI+ etc because CR wouldnt do what I wanted it to, or it was just easier and quicker to do it myself. Setting parameters may be an answer.... Just let the users enter what coulumns they want, then use function fields to match their input up to actual columns. Unfortunately, you still dont have a way to layout the page dynamically. It may turn out to be quicker to do your own reports lol. Hopefully CR will be completely redone in its next release.

Hello,
For importing function i use
[DllImport(DLLNAME)]<br />
public static extern int function(Type Args);<br />
into my class. and it's working fine.
But for import variable which is exported by dll this method doesn't work.
It will get error that "DllImport is not use for this item only use for method import". And for extern keyword say that this will not use for this item.
Plz help me.

Create a function that will expose that variable's address, then you can write to it.

dll is not my one it is made by someone else. I just downloaded it from internet & import methods using definition givin in doccument.
