Did you forget to eventually save your changes?
Well, fonts are sometimes bad to handle. You could create a new font object, set all its properties, and then set the font property of your paragraph to that freshly created font object.

olecon.Open()
olecomm = New OleDbCommand(String.Format("SELECT * FROM [sheet1$]"), olecon)
Dim reading As OleDbDataReader = olecomm.ExecuteReader()
While (reading.Read)
If Not reading.IsDBNull(reading.GetOrdinal("A7")) Then

The label won't repaint itself until the code is out of the loop back to the message pump. Then you'll see the last item that was set in the Label control.
The reason is that you have your long running code hogging the UI (startup) thread. This means that the UI cannot get any messages to tell it to repaint controls, including your label.
The solution is to move your long running work to a background thread, BackgroundWorker, or Task. Your background thread code them has to Invoke a method on the UI thread to update the Label control as needed. There are plenty of examples all over the web. You just need to search for "VB.NET BackgroundWorker with progress".

hi,
I am using webbrowser control, my question is:
is possible to suppress dialog box "save as" and download file silently?
thanks erika

No, this would break security, and allow websites to download malicious programs such as viruses etc, without the PC owners' knowledge.

so is it not possible to workaround the problem? can I simulate the user's click sending some command?

No, the reason for not allowing this is to prevent malicious use. Why do you want to breach security systems that exist to protect the user?

use HttpRequest or FtpRequest instead of webbrowser control.

I haven't got the url of the file, it is a file dynamically created: when I click a button, the file is created and sent onfly.

You have all the information you need there to solve your issue. Big hint. 64 bit app trying to use 32 bit client.

Which did you install?

In VS 2012 Express, I created a solution called syncpro and then renamed it multisyncpro in the solution window by using F2 and renaming the solution and then the project.
I noticed however, in the folder structure
MyDocuments
multisyncpro
syncpro
etc.
that the second-level folder is still called syncpro. In a solution that has not been renamed, the two folders are the same name. If I rename that folder outside of VS the solution won't load. How can I rename this folder so it matches the new name of multisyncpro?
Thanks...

It is a bit of a pain to do this but can be achieved as follows:
- In Solution Explorer, remove the project.
- Close the solution, saving changes
- Go to Windows Explorer and rename the folder containing the project
- Open the solution
- In Solution Explorer, use "Add Existing" and add the project back into the solution.
