Do they all search the same data ?
A service is a good way to get multiple programs to call the same exe. I've used them to share session state between asp and asp.net, for example.

Does anybody have any experience forcing a form to only be able to resize diagonally?
There's no magic property out there that'll do it, and I'm getting a little frustrated trying to play with logic inside the "layout" events of the form and/or the graph control (an extended panel).
I'm writing a graphing application, and my main window is split into two panes: Options/settings pane docked on the left, and the actual graph docked on the right. I want things setup so that no matter how the user resizes the form, the following things are true:
1) The two panes don't overlap, ever.
2) The graph control is always square
3) The graph control boundaries don't go past the right edge of the form.
4) !(extra horizontal space && extra vertical space between graph and edges of form)
It seems like my best bet is to figure out how to only allow diagonal (and therefor, matching vertical & horizontal) resizes, and just make sure the graph is square when the program starts up.
Sorry to write #4 in code, but I couldn't figure out an unambiguous way of phrasing it in english:P

a bit cludgy, but works:
<br />
private void Form1_Resize(object sender, System.EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
this.Width = this.Height;<br />
}<br />

I created a window service.
The service can't be stopped when there is a bug in the service (eg: miss out the "<" in the config file). The window service status is STOPPING. In this case, i have to restart the PC in order to stop this window service.
Is there any other ways to stop the service without restart the PC? Pls help! Thanks in advance!

MFC is primarily for writing Windows apps. Why would you want to use it for a web service ?

Hi Christian Graus
How can you help me to create a windows service in another way ?
|
|
|

If you go into the new project wizard for C++, there is a template for ASP.NET web service. It uses managed c++, meaning your code will require the .NET framework to be installed on the target machine.

what is your idia about deference between "Web Service" and "Windows Services"?
Is there any deference between them ?

Oh, crap. Sorry, that's not what you want at all, totally different. There is also a Windows Service project there, though. Had you looked ? Have you tried it ? Have you looked at google or MSDN ?

I have looked at the "Windows Services" in the MSDN,but I can not find any good topics about "Windows Services in Visual C++.Net".
The most topics was about "Windows Services in C# and VB.Net"
If you can help me,please do it.
Or present me a source code for it;
|
|
|
|
|
Click File/New/Project. Click Visual C++.NET, and scroll down. The last project type is Windows Service. Click OK. Now you have the source code for a Windows Service project, at least an empty one. As it's a managed C++ project, the methods you call and the libraries you use will be the same as in C#.

What do I need to download if an App requires the .NET 1.1 framework.
(I am NOT a devloper) I just need to get the framework but the site at
Microsoft seems to have a number of not so obvious choices to a non-programmer...

All you need is .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package.

Hi All,
I am newbie to Pocket PC development; I have decent experience in .Net
Windows and Web. I am writing this not to ask any technical question but to
get an idea for developing an application. My employer asked me build a
Stocktaking application in PPC. The database has around 30,000 items and they
want the ability to do off-line and on-line stocktaking. The Item table has
around 25 columns, but for off-line basically I download 5 columns ( code
nvarchar(25), description nvarchar(30), quantity float , price money ,
location nvarchar(25) ). Now my question is when I download 30,000 items
into PPC; what sort of approach I should take into consideration because I
built small apps in PPC and that apps connected to SQL Server 2000 and
downloads the items into the local SQL Server CE 2.0 database. It takes hell
lot of time to download these items. What will I do in this scenario? What is
best way of building these sort of application. What is the best way to
approach this issue? Please guys help me in this issue and share your ideas.
give me some solution???????????
Thanks
Tom

I don't understand it!
I want to test a pocket pc 2003 base application written in compact framework 2 beta.
I have tried to run an application on the Visual Studio beta 2 (the latest one) and also in other versions (windbay), but the emulator simply won't start.
In the latest version it tells me he's got some problems with the "TCP connection" and in the Windbay he tell me even if i run a new blank form after build that he's got "Development Errors".
What can i do? i want to use the Compact Framework 2, but i can't test if without the 2005 built in emulator which does not work.
P.S: in the lastest version when i tried to connect through the active sync my Ipaq 3360 which has a pocket pc 2003 OS, it says that my operating system is not updated. what should i update there? what does this mean?
