I am sure you will be able to find the MCSD from that

Hi thanks for your reply I re-phrased my question thanks

Look at the course materials and see what you are more comfortable with first.
It would be useful to get a certificate to for what you already know and then work on what you don't.

Hey thanks for the reply, I think I remember reading somewhere that the MCPD exams are going to be retired in July, do you know anything about this??

Don't you mean explore, the file viewer?
Windows Explorer is the entire desktop shell.

That's just one: there are many similar solutions out there: you have to find one and adapt it to your needs.

Hi @all
This seems to me like a , eh, quite ridiculous question, but I´m absolutely unable to find out where to get the Project Template for Entity Framework in VS2012...trying to do so since round about 50 minutes
What I can do is rightclick under my webproject, select 'Data' and then add a new ADO.NET Entity data model which then will be created under my WebApp-branch...
What I want to do is to add an independent Project in the solution in order to reference it from any project within the solution...
I know this is possible; I've done it two or three times before, but I regrettably forgot how I've done that...
Can anyone please point me to the right direction??
Thanks in advance,
Clodetta

ok, this is a perfect example of someone failing to use google/bing/whatsoever the correct way with the correct keywords...
But just in case, someone else stumbles over my problem, here´s the solution:
dotnetcurry.com: The answer is – To consume an Entity model in separate projects, you have to create the model in its own project, i.e. a class library project.

You don't have to put it in a sperate project, but it's probably recommended.
There's really isn't a project template. That's why it's so difficult to find! YOu can create a Class Library project, then open the Package Manager console and type Install-Package EntityFramework . Once that's done, you've got a few ways you can go. You can find out about those from here[^].

oh, ok. few more "tricks" to "entityframework" my solution...
Since this is no day to day job one most likely will forget how to do it after a few weeks...
Thanks for the link!
Kind regards

what's the fastest way to import fixed len file into sql table?
File is about 5 mil records

Use a bulk loader. Most database engines provide a dedicated program to do this.

Have a read of this, assuming it's SQL Server
BULK INSERT (Transact-SQL)[^]

As other responders have said, use the System.Data.SqlClient.SqlBulkCopy class.
Also, implement your own IDataReader in a class to read the file. The SqlBulkCopy contains a method called WriteToServer which has an overload that takes an IDataReader.
Once this is done, you can simply create an IDataReader using a TextReader (via the class you made) and now you can simply read a row and write the row without using a lot of memory with DataTable or DataSet objects.

Hi,
You have not mention is that one time or you have text feed in one folder.
Anyway, You can create one SSIS package that can import your file data into sql server. you can schedule your SSIS package if that file is frequently updating. even you can execute package from your Code behind. you can also use bulk insert as other suggested.

use a WCF service (WCF Application) and a PDA windows mobile 6.0 how can we draw the position marker on google maps in another project (application winforms).
Application uses winforms web browser to appear Gmap.
and implementation of WCF services hosted on an IIS server.
I have implemented the methods in the WCF service that will be called for by the PDA and returned the postion of GPS (latitude and longitude) until here everything is fine, but I do not know how to get back this position in application winforms for to draw marker
|
|
|
|
|
From your description, it sounds as though you're getting your geolocation back from the WCF service. If you are, you should realise that what you are getting is the location of the machine that hosts the service (providing it has the ability to get the geolocation) and not your PDA.
