The "Find" dialog used to have an option to search using wildcards, but it looks like this was dropped as of Visual Studio 2012. You'll have to use Regular Expressions[^] instead:
good.*morning

I have installed microsoft visual studio on windows 8.1.
Windows 8.1 had already got 4.5 ,3.5.
I have followed all the steps of IIS .
While creating ASP.Net website ,once I give the name and click Ok to start working ,I get this msg box:
"ASP.NET 2.0 has not been registered on the web server. You need to manually configure you webserver ASP.NET 2.0 in order for your site to run correctly."
how to do it manually?

I'd suggest googling that error. You'll likely find the instructions.

Obviously not very hard - the first result of searching for that error message[^] is this StackOverflow answer[^] which explains what you need to do:
- Open Control Panel
- Programs\Turn Windows Features on or off
- Internet Information Services
- World Wide Web Services
- Application development Features
- ASP.Net <== check mark here
To register .NET 2.0, select the "ASP.NET 3.5" option in the last step.

You should also use the ASP.NET forum below.

Have you followed any of those links to check whether your installation is in error? Have you looked through all your IIS folders to find out where this program is installed?
|

Yes I have checked everything and then asked here for help.

For each drive you have, type the following into a command prompt
dir /s inetmgr.exe This looks for the inetmgr.exe file and will tell you where it is located, if it's installed. To be honest, it sounds like you haven't actually installed IIS. You might want to try downloading and installing IIS Express instead.

Dear Friends, Can you suggest the options for Exception and Performance Monitoring tools for .Net Applications. Back in 2010 I had used AVI Code Intercept Studio, which was a great tool and helped to a great extent discovering bottlenecks and un-handled exceptions . Since AVI Code is taken over by Microsoft it is now available only as a part of Microsoft System Center 2012.
I want to consider a tool which can be used in such a landscape where most of the servers are with Windows 2000, 2003, and 2008 and with applications ranging from .net framework 1.1 to 4.5.
The primary intention here is to monitor the exceptions rather than performance.
While searching on the net I came across this... but never knew about it before

Not at all my friend... This surely not an ad.
I have posted this question on various other groups.. but didnt get any answer so far.
I am part of a big DR implementation project...of such an IT landscape which is pretty much f***ed up already...70% being on .net platform but most of it 1.0 or 1.1 framework and on old OS... windows 2000 or 2003...with no proper documentation and standards for instrumentation and logging. I want to make sure that bringing up the applications in DR site is going to be as smooth as possible.

Well I followed the steps mentioned here :
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/net-framework-windows-8
But after finishing everything I don't find .net app on system.
How to run .net framework?
I want to work on vb.net.
OS is Windows 8.1
|
|
|
|

You don't run the framework. You run code written on top of the framework. You can write code in Notepad if you have to.
