Hi
I am trying to search for every <author> element that may contain content
such as 'Vignesh'. but there are some potential problems with it.
It only searches the first child of <file> named <author> and never
goes to the second child <author>. IF i search for 'Diaz' or 'Krish', It returns record but for 'Vignesh' and 'Tomy', it does not return record. Is there any logic to search for second child node?Please give me some idea. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
I faced formating problem to post xml file so it looks like this hope you dont mind.
document
file
author Diaz John author
author Vignesh Mehta author
/file
file
author Krish P author
author Tomy M. author
/file
/document
Thanks

It? Sorry but that doesn't tell us anything useful.

On the screen where you post there is a checkbox "Ignore HTML tags in this message (good for code snippets)"

I have an XML Schema that i would like to use BulkLoad 4.0 SchemaGen to create the tables in an SQL 2005 Database. I get the error "Schema: the parent/child table of the relationship on 'Listings' does not match." Code for the Schema is as follows:
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://platform.point2.com/schemas/2.0/listingDataFeed" xmlns="http://platform.point2.com/schemas/2.0/listingDataFeed" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified" xmlns:sql="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:mapping-schema">
<xs:annotation>
<xs:appinfo>
<sql:relationship name="Test"
parent="ListingDataFeed"
parent-key="Listings_Id"
child="Listings"
child-key="Listings_Id"
inverse="true"/>
</xs:appinfo>
</xs:annotation>
<xs:element name="ListingDataFeed" type="data" sql:relation="ListingsDataFeed"
sql:key-fields="Listings_Id"/>
<xs:complexType name="data">
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="PublishDate" type="xs:dateTime"/>
<xs:element name="DocumentationUrl" type="xs:string"/>
<xs:element name="Disclaimer" type="xs:string"/>
<xs:element name="Copyright" type="xs:string"/>
<xs:element name="Listings" type="listings" minOccurs="0" sql:relation="Listings"
sql:key-fields="Listings_Id"
sql:relationship="Test"/>
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
<xs:complexType name="listings">
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="Listing" type="listing" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
All of the code defining relationships is what I have added to the Schema that i received in an attempt to set proper relationships to "Listings". There is further XML code for the "listing" data, but i'm pretty sure that the problem is in the code above. Any help would be really appreciated, Thanks!

Hi friends,
I have an XML file, and it has XSL file that is applied for formatting data contained in xml. Now I WANT TO SAVE THE XML FILE AS AN HTML FILE, but the content and styles should not be lost. Thats what my problem is.
when i m saving the xml file as an html, its all styles are lost, and it saves only plain text.
So please if u have any solution for that, pls provide me that, as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.

xml, html, and xsl files are only plain text. It sounds to me like what you mean is, you used newlines to generate breaks in your text file and you need to change your XSL to instead add br tags, so you emit HTML.

Hello,
I have a group called GroupX and it contains several brands. Those brands contain products and those products have two values: their price and their product number. Now I want to store this in a XML file, and I know that I have to use System.XML but I just can't find out on how to store, read and modify this data using XML. I've searched the internet, but didn't find what I was looking for.. I am using Visual Basic with Visual Studio 2005.
Please help me out,

Is this in a database or do you want to create the xmlDocument in Visual Basic from a text file or something?

I find that hard to believe.
There is a myriad of ways to store XML, the easiest is to use a stringbuilder to build your XML by hand, but that is more error prone than using XMLDocument or the XMLStreamWriter ( not sure what that is called ). XMLDocument is a standard DOM implimentation, it's how you would read/modify an XML document.

applicationName="MyApplication"
enablePasswordRetrieval="false"
enablePasswordReset="true"
requiresQuestionAndAnswer="true"

Look for some tutorial or example articles on working with the XML DOM. There are millions of them. There are even small samples in MSDN documentation for the <code>System.XML .XMLDocument class. You might find such articles here on CodeProject or TopXML or www.w3schools.com or on MSDN.

I haven't had to do this in the last year, but unless things have changed each search engine has different requirements for sitemap files. You will need to visit each of the search engines separately and look at the schema for their sitemaps and use that as a guide.

Just use XPath to select the nodes containing your connection strings, then use them to connect. Which bit are you stuck on ?

HI am trying to Serialize( cos requested by application )
a class using XML Attributes.
Xml file should be like the one written below. I tried using XML
Serialization Attributes but I cannot find any solution.
The fact is that for each item name is an attribute for the class
variable, but I am not able to put the value without adding an extra tag.
Have you some idea about that?
OUPUT on FILE expected
<MyData>
<variable name="FirstVar">value
<variable name="FirstVar">value1</variable>
<variable name="SecondVar">value2</variable>
<variable name="ThirdVar">value3</variable>
</MyData>
MY CLASS that doesn't work
class variable
{
[XmlAttribute]
String name;
}
class MyData
{
[XmlElement]
variable[] list;

Hi,
I have to parse an XML file with a .NET XmlTextReader. The Read() method of this class moves from the current node to the next one. However, if it comes accross a node it can't read (ie: malformed/corrupted XML node), it cannot skip it and move to the next node: the program is stuck.
Is there anyway to deal with this problem? Or is there a less restrictive .NET XML parser out there?
(basically the parser is bugged at a node like <name foo="bar" ,foo2="bar2"> as the comma is not a valid character to start a new attribute)
Thank you!
