After months of not talking up Windows on Arm, Microsoft officials are now touting new capabilities and new app support for the platform. Windows 10 users will have the right to bear ARMs!

I was so dissapointed when ARM started making GPUs and did not name them Low Energy Graphics.
I would be willing to pay an arm and a leg for a machine that gave med the same in return.

Microsoft's .NET Core team admits it needs to be better at supporting contributors to its open-source projects. We were being sarcastic when we called it "open source"
|
|
|
|
|
I did think that Microsoft open sourcing software had one of two motives (depending on the software):
(1) Ditching something they've lost interesting in whilst being able to claim that it hasn't been ditched.
(2) Marketing for mindshare: Feel good fuzzies for the devs.
This doesn't mean that their commitment to open source isn't real (pro tem): It just means that it's because it leads (indirectly) to an increase in or maintenance of revenue.

The main complaint is that pull requests (PRs) and issues are not being addressed by WPF maintainers. Contributors also say they have no idea if and when issues would be acted on.
Spencer's explanation for the WPF team's performance is that it isn't "sufficiently staffed" and lacks the test infrastructure to respond to community contributions.
"The team is still focused on finishing up .NET 5.0 as per the published roadmap and will share updates on the plan for increasing community engagement on PRs and issues early in the .NET 6.0 release," said Spencer.

an imho well written history with much more "depth" than the usual CNN fare: [^]Quote: The process — from ideation to cardboard mockups to hitting the market — has lasted four years, at least. And that’s a long time for a product, especially in the age of tech buzzwords. In that time, the mobile world has seen an equal share of excitement and disappointment when it comes to foldable devices. Now there’s the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (a standard phone that folds into a tablet), the Surface Duo (which pairs two screens together like two monitors) and the Z Flip (which goes from compact to full smartphone). I'd love to have one, but at an initial list price of US$ 2499, and US$ 299 for a keyboard ... I will remain a "one-eyed cat looking in a seafood store" [^] ... much more likely I will make a rattle as I stop shaking than make a ka-ching.

So, the same way this article was published to The Insider?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Microsoft is convinced that daily commutes have unique benefits, and it wants to revive those benefits by replacing your daily commute with morning and evening tasks. I also need a "non-virtual gin drawer", but I don't see them working on that

Saving commute time and the exertion is one of the positives working from home. Why would I want it now?
If someone really wants to put this, then setup a calendar with meeting (agenda - don't show up, relax, take a break)
Sounds more to track a commitment of work and doing it. Looks like more of a trust issue/micromanaging the WFH option.
