I appreciate the effort they've made, but both my parents have shuffled off this mortal coil, so I don't have to worry about controlling them, any more.

.NET coder? Have some free time? Ever wonder about helping out with open source? Want to get started on some low-hanging fruit? Now you can fix (their) bugs for (their) joy and profit!
Maybe give them a few new icons while you're at it?

Well, now we can't justify complaining about something because now we can offer to fix it for them.
First thing on the list - fix VS2017 so that it understands linefeeds in intellisense comments. (It works in VS2019), and everything before VS2015).

Better yet, work on open-source projects that ms doesn't profit from.
The Linux desktop, for example, desperately needs input from windows programmers, if it's ever going to achieve any kind of user-friendliness.

Need a laptop with a lot of power? Intel has released the new 10th-gen Core H-series processors, capable of delivering up to a whopping 5.3 GHz. Some of the capabilities of a desktop CPU, in a slightly more portable (and probably much more expensive) fashion

Unfortunately, because of soon-to-be-discovered security flaws, it will have to be governed down to using only one core at 1.1GHx.

For those individuals that have yet to purchase a Pluralsight subscription, we are offering free access to our platform for the entire month of April. Stuff to watch in case you've already binged your way through Netflix
|
|
|
|
|
I haven't check, so I am possibly totally wrong. But I have already seen it in other platforms:
Month free offer, but you have to fill everything as it was a real contract. And then you have to activelly retract / step back (however it is said in legal english) before the end of the month.
In other words, it is not a free month, it is a suscription with the first month as a present.
In my opinion... a damned no go from the marketing department and a very bad policy for the company.

I haven't checked yet, but they do say:Quote: Anyone that does not have a current subscription to Pluralsight can take advantage of this offer. No credit card is required to sign up and there will be no obligation beyond April.
So, fingers crossed. (Guess I really should confirm)
Edit: Confirmed - no credit card, no subscription required. Just an email address to sign up (And it took four hours for them to send out a confirmation. I guess they're bunged up.)

Researcher set out to find 15 new Windows bugs last year. He found 25, and Microsoft already patched 11. One down, many (many, many) to go
many

What gets me is that they only found 25 bugs.
There was an article linked to recently, describing how ms had to upgrading their bug database on more than one occasion, because the number of bugs kept running out of bounds.
Hundreds of thousands of bugs, and they only found 25?!?
Great researchers, or what?

Maybe it's the type of bug they were trying to find. Lots of the bugs in MS's bug database may not be the kind of bug these researchers care about. Like the icon is the wrong color.

The massive amount of automation and digital transformation taking place in the business world would be impossible if companies needed to code all of it “the old-fashioned way.” Low-code and no-code platforms are building new applications faster and allowing non-coders within a company to be involved. If all you want to do is move data around, no-code can often handle it.
The problem is that most people need to do slightly more complicated things.
