Alan Kay is quite scathing about the state of the web in this Interview with Alan Kay | Dr Dobb's[^].
Sadly, the world never seems to pay attention.

You're not wrong at all. I was kind of disappointed at how little he said he would do differently. In previous interviews I have seen, he admitted that he wished he had seen of the existing literature on the subject of hypertext and hypermedia, because it would have avoided some mistakes.

The benefits of the Windows UI and the ability to break out of the 640K straightjacket was significant enough to cause widespread adoption of new standards, not only in the operating system and interface, but in the applications that were commonly used at the time. Because JavaScript and polyfills ought to be enough for everyone?
And now I'm blind from the eye roll this article caused.

A new personal assistant is joining the abundance of time-management tools out there, using artificial intelligence to help developers tackle the problems of managing their time and scheduling everything so their day can be fulfilling. So you can spend all that new time managing your schedule in the tool

Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems wants to bring EHang 184 to life. What could possibly go wrong with that?
But really: is "EHang" a good name for it?

Personally, I'd rather the do the testing and development of that particular concept in China.

That will be the next version - they'll fly out a printer (via drone, of course) and you can plug it in to print you a drone.

I have two thoughts about this drone. The first is: Them blades! Drones name will be: Leg cutter 5000.
Secondly 23minutes of battery? maybe its supposed to be used for shorter transports but still, wouldnt want to be 2500m up in the air when it flashes low battery. If it behaves like my phone a lot of people are going to die. 14% beep a warning, 2 seconds later beep another warning show 1% then die.

From years of watching master programmers, I have observed certain common patterns in their workflows. 21 days or bust!
Apologies for sending people to "that" site.

Like all observed behavior, some of it is probably true, some probably isn't. I have no idea if I'm a "maester programmer" but I do know that I get the job done as quickly and efficiently as I can given whatever the current context might be.
The problem with all of these approaches is that they fit some scenarios some of the time. To me, adaptability is the one of the most important attribute of any programmer, master or not.

But I'm still not convinced.
