This falls under the "No Sh!t Sherlock" concept. Companies always favor their own products over the competition.

The findings of the survey revealed that over half of organizations value security above the experience of end-users, often at the expense of productivity and customer satisfaction. I'm using the wrong half of software it seems

Didn't another report say 70% of organizations didn't prioritize security at all?
I guess that does explain user experience.

The European Commission allegedly transferred data to Amazon servers in the U.S. two years after it outlawed that exact practice. Who will regulate the regulators?
Quis regulabit regulas? Or something like that. It's been decades since my Latin classes.

Hardly surprising. No different than COVID rule makers.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Carbon, the latest programming language to be built within Google, was unveiled today as an experimental successor to C++. “You come at the king, you best not miss”
Likely soon to join many on the waste pile of “C++ killers”

Quote: As for why a C++ developer may want to consider introducing Carbon to their codebase, Carruth shared quite a few highlights of the language on stage.

Single inheritance; classes are final by default Before I roll my eyes and agree with the 'another one on the waste pile,' anyone care to say why this would make anyone want to leave C++? It just makes me think it is designed as a kid's toy, not a powerful programming tool.

I can live without multiple inheritance. Classes being final by default sounds like they're obsessed with SOLID: classes should be closed for modification but open for extension. That's a platitude because it can be hard to foresee what new capabilities will be useful to derived classes.

As this language matures, say into Diamond, future solutions may written in Diamonds and Rust.
