Have a look at the video again.
Very close to hitting the truck white smoke is seen coming from the wheels.
I think the driver or AI did brake, it was just to late to have very much effect.
I could be wrong and the driver may have been having a toke from his bong just before the crash.

There was a small mudslide in North Norway last night - Mudslide in Alta, Norway[^]. I wonder how a Tesla would have behaved on this road... The text is in Norwegian, but the photos tell their story. Look at the short video at the bottom of the story, where the house tips into the mud as if it were a toy house. Scary.
The last night mudslide is just an aftermath of a bigger mudslide a couple of days ago, about 600 meters long and 300 meters wide, 30-50 m tall. Eight houses were washed to the sea, but fortunately, no humans were hurt. (One dog were caugt in the mud and washed to the sea, but it was picked up from the water by a boat.)

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Thursday tweeted Thursday that he thinks it’s time to break up Amazon. We must be living in a computer simulation, as that headline shouldn't be possible in the real world
It's like the result of a game of MadLib.
Sorry, I just think we need to Ctrl+Alt+Del and restart 2020 over again.

Please do; and after that, we completely kill SpaceX and put it in public hands. With Boeing software

I thought it was really rich, coming from perhaps the greatest corporate welfare queen of all time.
It's also interesting that his concern about monopolies didn't extend to breaking up the federal government and the execrable Blue and Red teams.

Don't know the version, but by how this year has been going, it's only been programmed in brainf*ck.

With this year, I'm pretty sure Windows is a requirement, and this one seems to be Vista (or maybe 8).

I often wonder how much C02 emissions is caused by excessive power consumption due to inefficient code.

To answer the subject line question, yes, but there aren't enough actual smart software engineers that know how to write efficient code. And those that exist are doing so already.
