That's one higher than all the other .NETs!

They jumped the .Net Core 4.xx to avoid confusion with current .Net Frameworks
And the .Net 5.xx should symbolize, this is the new version as the future of both Framework and Core.
On the one hand, seems logical.
On the other hand... if they wouldn't come with one shiny new product so fast, the confusion with versions and compatibilities would be way smaller.

On the fifth anniversary of Windows 10, we look back at what it was supposed to be and what it ultimately became. Almost nothing turned out as planned, and that’s OK. The last version of Windows...until the next one

Israeli researchers use vibrations from CPU, GPU, or PC chassis fans to broadcast stolen information through solid materials and to nearby receives, breaking air-gapped system protections. "I'm pickin' up good vibrations"
I'm finding myself less worried, and more irritated when an "academic" creates a "hack" where the first step is, "after installing a kernel-level driver..."

I get like this when the first step is having access to the physical device.

... and the next step is to use a smartphone to record the fan noise. There's a reason why, going back decades, the DoD has banned moving most electronics in/out of secure areas (with strictness going up with security levels); and the design of secure rooms includes features to preclude acoustic/electromagnetic noise from being able to escape.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

It is not that dumb... why do you need to create hijacks in webs, when you can hijack things that people download voluntarily and integrate in their own project, hijacking the apps that use it.
It is an exponential growth if you succeed with a popular project.

Nah - we just need a ribbon at the bottom of the screen, too.

I'm not an Apple guy, and one day a year or so ago, out of curiosity, I played with one in the store. When I couldn't get the right-hand scroll bar to come up IN SAFARI, so I could use the mouse the old-fashioned way, I realized we've reached the heights of stupidity.

Much of the work undertaken by artificial intelligence involves a training process known as machine learning, where AI gets better at a task such as recognising a cat or mapping a route the more it does it. "Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 AM, Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug."

The only consolation I have is, that it will take a big while to create a real AI. And hopefully human kind has won a bit more wisdom until that moment.
