Researchers have published a proof of concept they say promises warmer, cheaper, and more robust quantum computing. I hear talcum powder helps with that

"Qubit" is a ridiculous name for them, given that they're superpositional (i.e. they can be both Yes and No at the same time).
Just call them "female".

The next time you complain about having to put on a clean shirt for a video call, consider the challenges others have to deal with while working from home. Dr. Tongue would be pleased

It's also been confirmed* that, when working from home, they use a toilet brush to emulate the stick shift.
* By someone who knows it instinctively, obviously.

Earlier this month, NASA awarded additional funding to a host of projects in its Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program, in which contributors are encouraged to pitch out-of-the-box ideas meant to “change the possible.” I think that "telescope" is making Alderaan nervous

Without atmosphere and always in shadows... that would actually be a good place for a telescope.
But if the required precision work is going to end properly... that's another question.
Just in case: no, this time I am not being sarcastic, I really hope they manage to make it work.

Nelek wrote: Without atmosphere and always in shadows... that would actually be a good place for a telescope. "Always in shadows" ... well ... If the moon was lit from the earth, it would be so. But think of the position of the sun, moon and earth when you see the new moon over the horizon at sunset, and where the back side of the moon is pointing.
When we have a full moon. then it must be very shadowed on the dark side, though. No sun, no light reflected from the earth. No city lights. And of course no clouds. Must be very close to perfect. I doubt that we will see it realized in our lifetime, though.

A Silicon Valley-based nonprofit animal sanctuary called Sweet Farm is renting out farm animals, including llamas and goats, to spice up boring Zoom meetings. At least they'll contribute more than I do to the weekly meetings

In a previous job I wouldn't need them, we already had half a farm in the team...

"Farm team" members?
(In baseball and hockey, a farm team is a minor league team that is affiliated with a major league team. Its players are there to improve their skills so they can move up to the major league team.)

No... something more literal, in the way that we had a pig (not so clean), a bear (big and hairy), a chicken (always making noise), a sheep (nice and always following others, never own opinion)...
