No it shouldn't. Just amazing. You think I, as a developer, want to use the command line??? Morons.
Then again, I also don't want ribbon bars with more empty space than actual content.

I get the feeling that this push to put everything in a CLI is like the “need” for dark mode. Herd mentality

Kent Sharkey wrote: I get the feeling that this push to put everything in a CLI is like the “need” for dark mode. Herd mentality I really don't get that.
Backlit screens were the best thing since cordless kettles (which they probably predated, but I'm not going to waste my precious time and effort changing it to "sliced bread"). Why anyone would want to go back to white text on a black screen is beyond me; the whole "dark mode" thing is a joke.
It's either Ludditism or reverse elitism -- I don't care which; I just want it to go away.
The only thing I have in dark mode is Steam, but that's only because lighter skins don't work for it, any more -- and that's one of the three reasons* that I would rather buy from any other outlet that has what I want
* The others being that you hit too many "You can't get to there from here" moments in the UI, and that it screws up your gamepad controls when you play non-steam games (because it just has to run in the background all the time, doesn't it? Computers only exist to run bloatware from game shops).

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I’m excited to announce that GitHub has signed an agreement to acquire npm. This will have a huge effect on everyone's lifestyle
I mean, it's pretty big, and will touch many of our users, but likely it will have no effect in the bigger picture.
We report, you decide.

But seriously, it's one of those command-line tools for getting JavaScript packages.

Affect whatnow?
I have no idea what anyone's talking about.
Mind you, that's pretty normal -- I almost never have a clue what's going on.
(wait for it...)
So it won't have a huge effect on my lifestyle.

Remember when the left-pad cluster- taking down node.js developers everywhere left you with a giant smirk all day long. NPM were the 's whose platform was involved.
