We’re happy to announce today the release of the C++ Build Insights SDK, a framework that gives you access to MSVC build time information via C and C++ APIs. Now you can write code to watch your code compile. Codeception!

C# 8 finally gives us the ability to express whether a variable shouldn’t be null, and when it can be null. Coming soon: null? and void?
Because you never know when you might wonder if something might just be null and/or void.

Windows 10 is encountering more serious problems thanks to a recent update, with users reporting some worrying new issues. Maybe it is time to give something (or someone) the boot
"One of the most widely-reported problems is that the Sign Tool app is crashing after the update is installed." Because codesigning, booting, and search are all so closely related? xS

Well,
If there is anyone reading this and blocked by the makecert or signtool issue... you can temporarily get around this by:
1.) Backup/rename wintrust.dll and appxsip.dll in your tool path.
2.) Copy wintrust.dll and appxsip.dll from %WINDIR%\system32 to your tool path.
Note that "tool path" is referring to either your Windows SDK or Windows Driver Kit (WDK) bin path depending on your workload.
Best Wishes,
-David Delaune
Edit: Note that the Visual Studio IDE is 32 bit process so your "system32" path is actually %WINDIR%\SysWOW64

Organic compounds called thiophenes are found on Earth in coal, crude oil and oddly enough, in white truffles, the mushroom beloved by epicureans and wild pigs. Truffles from Mars is my new band name
|
|

|

So they've conclued that the thiophenes were formed through bacterial interaction with chemicals in the "soil", but it's just as obvious that they were formed by pretty flowers, or by a dozen or so other processes.
Science really shouldn't be a matter of choosing which conclusion to jump to.

At least they didn't seem to jump to as many conclusions as Wikramsinghe (although he's good at it due to lots of practice): Did COVID-19 come from space?[^]

Ye gods, it looks like he didn't just study at the university of I don't know so I'll just make sh1t up, but graduated magna cum laude.
It's surprising how many astronomers went to the same school.
And they then have the gall to call astronomy a science. It's not; it's just a very small aspect of Physics.
Besides, everyone knows where cooties come from -- Bart Simpson explained it very clearly.

There are dozens of naturally occurring thiophenes on Earth that aren't formed by bacteria; I chose one that took the presumptuousness of their claim a step further. It's called "satire".
