Microsoft will probably deliver critical patches after it ends Windows 7 support in January 2020. But it's not guaranteed, so users and organizations should upgrade to Windows 10 now. Or even with Windows 10

But I suppose, another "world is ending" article of the week about Windows 7 deadline and the hype of Windows 10

Brandon Fornwalt at healthcare provider Geisinger in Pennsylvania, US and colleagues tasked an AI with examining 1.77 million electrocardiogram (ECG) results from nearly 400,000 people to predict who was at a higher risk of dying within the next year. "Hasta la vista, baby"

If I had the time, and skill to read the paper on this, I want to know some more specifics.
My rough understanding of Machine Learning, is take a bunch of known data (the 1.77 million ECGs and alive/dead info) and train the machine.
Then feed in just the ECG to see if can make a estimation of alive/dead after 1 year?
So many questions.
like what if alive after 1 year and 2 days in the training data?
How long is an ECG. Is a longer ECG provided to the ML then what the doctor views?
Meaning a machine can take the time to review every change of a 60 second ECG, but a doctor is only going to take in a high level flow of the line, unless they algorithm doctors use mentioned is able to help doctors with the miniature changes that at a glance might not see.

Google is unveiling Chrome tools that will help web apps run as quickly as their native counterparts, not to mention make them more usable offline. To some strange new definition of "desktop-like speed" that I'm not aware of
Still, this probably should worry the Electron folk.

I am by no means saying that Google is innocent; but...
- Ascension is the Health Care Provider which is collecting the data.
- Ascension has formed a partnership with Google.

Scientists are finding that galaxies can move with each other across huge distances, and against the predictions of basic cosmological models. The reason why could change everything we think we know about the universe. All the old cables that people are saving, 'just in case'?
I know I have a couple of old Zip cables that might be connecting to Andromeda.

Is it the web page that’s slow or is it your network connection? In the future, Google’s Chrome web browser may have an answer for you. By any chance, are "slow" websites the ones that don't pay Google?

YouTube is rolling out updated terms of service on December 10th, and a new line acts as a reminder that the company doesn’t have to keep any video up that it doesn’t want to. We're going to need a new place for cat videos!
