Google has finally confirmed what many have suspected, there are clear benefits to offering darker in-app colour schemes. "Hello, darkness, my old friend"
Pretty obvious blurb there (but aren't I always?)

Just remember that black is not the only option, though, guys!
What's best for the eyes is black text on a pale (dull) green background.
Unless you're microsoft, of course, then the best colour for windows is pure white, with no coloured borders or title bars -- not just bad for users' eyes, but for their mood and sanity.

If Microsoft wants to treat Windows 10 as a service, it has a responsibility to its customers to provide accurate information about problems with that service. Over the last month, the company has failed miserably in that regard. Maybe they're just taking a cue from the Postal Service or Secret Service

Yes, you can use a joke twice. Doesn't make it anymore funny, except maybe polite laughter, hoping it will all go away.

ZDNet: Over the last month, the company has failed miserably in that regard. We should all club together and make a movie about that.

AI is not “magic dust” for your company, says Google’s Cloud AI boss, who wants to sell you "magic beans".
The biggest challenge of AI is deciding which technologies you can credibly claim are AI.

Really? I'd love to see the sources for that made up statistic ...

That just means three of the eight guys he saw at a happy hour yesterday said they've heard of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The part about them being developers and using those for testing was an "extrapolation."

pretty sure that story was posted about a month ago from somewhere.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I think the old news was that MS joined the OIN. The new news is that they open-sourced 60k patents in the OIN. The new old news is that if you're not part of the OIN, you're still screwed if they decide to come after you.

this article was dated October 10, so it's a month old. And AIUI going all in with patents is a requirement for the OIN itself.

We aim to build a programming language that looks like HTML This is what happens when the kids grow up with angle brackets
I know, it's very early in the project, and they'll probably hit many walls and give up. But I stand by my intended mockery.
(I also remember seeing an 'XML as a programming language' project back around 2000). Fortunately, that went no where as well.

Quote: Most programming languages feature booleans. A boolean is a variable that can only have 2 values.
In most languages these 2 values are called true and false. But in HTML we call these 2 values cake and lie. I rest my cake.

To follow up...
So remember: cake = true, lie = false
I can only think that this whole project is a complete joke. If not:
