For C++17 everyone wanted to have concepts, and as you know, we didn't get them. But does it mean C++17 doesn’t improve templates/template meta-programming? Far from that! In my opinion, we get excellent features. Oh look, they found more punctuation to use in the language

concepts are not there, but still there are some useful features: like folds, deduction for class templates, constexpr-if

Microsoft is going through another reorganization that could result in "thousands" of layoffs, particularly to its sales force, according to TechCrunch, Bloomberg and others. For those who say the Cloud won't have any effects

One of the bigger updates to the Linux kernel has arrived. Go out and use it, says Torvalds. I wonder if they've considered popups to encourage people to upgrade?

Open source projects need to get serious about including standards in their deliverables. And now you have 15 standards
Yup, that's in reference to xkcd: Standards[^]

That's great news for all software tinkerers (whom I do not like to call "developers"): when even the highly paid consultants of Nasdaq release such bugs, then you can't accuse us because of doing so, too.

If I happened to have bought Apple stock at the new, low, price, would the seller(s) be required to deliver? :evil grin:

I think it was just an aggregator service that had the issue, the stocks themselves were not affected and NASDAQ's own site showed the correct values too.
It still raises some interesting issues though as to if it caused people to sell\buy anyway thus affecting the real prices after all. Not sure if a follow up investigation is going to be done and there is going to be more fallout from this, or if it isn't really a big deal as the markets are mainly automated? I don't know anything about share dealing so can't say for sure.

who are still using Windows 10 version 1507
You know, it would be helpful if Microsoft put the version number in the "View basic information about your computer" window (right-click "This PC"). I consider information like that to be pretty darn basic.
[edit]
Ironically, I had to google the answer. Never even knew about this:
Go to Start , enter About your PC, and then select About your PC.
[/edit]
And while I'm on the topic, if I'm viewing "basic" information, where is the button to view "advanced" information? "Advanced system settings" is not information, it's settings.
Who designs these stupid dialogs anyways? Oh wait.
