Been there, done that (though not to the extent of those guys).
The protocol-relative URLs were a surprise to us, too. How hard is it for an email client to just default to *something*? Our biggest issue was Fastly caching our stuff. they came to our rescue, though, and made some changes there end to get us through. Super easy.
cheers

Dang. The hardest part of switching over my websites to HTTPS was figuring out how to register the certificate in the Windows cert manager!

We used to have ^Jif in the UK, but then they changed the name to ^Cif (I guess to match others in the EU)..
Weirdly, it always make me think of the ^CIS
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

The bycicle design is decades old and it is more popular than ever. It does what it is supposed to do in an appreciable and economic way.

A team of researchers at Universite Paris-Diderot has uncovered the reason for wobbling of wheeled suitcases. In their paper published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, the group explains the physics behind suitcase wobbling and offer some suggestions to overcome the problem. I'm so glad all the hard problems are solved

Researchers have given the first demonstration of 3-D imaging of objects through walls using ordinary wireless signal. The technique, which involves two drones working in tandem, could have a variety of applications, such as emergency search-and-rescue, archaeological discovery and structural monitoring. When you think of a standard hacker toolkit, software vulnerabilities and malware come to mind. But a pair of researchers are testing a different type of instrument: a physical tool that can break into devices with a wave of your hand. Siliconium impulsa!
((That's a bad attempt at a Harry Potteresque spell, for those that can't tell)).
Yeah, I know. Wired and ad blockers. Deal with it - Chris submitted the news item.

Interestingly enough Wired appears to've just done some sort of backend refactor and removed their blocker blocker. Instead of the scorched earth shell I normally see for a few seconds before it goes into nag mode it loaded normally (read all the first party crap I nuked from their dumpsterfire of a page layout was unblocked); and it didn't kick me out when I went all Bomber Harris on it again.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
