Eve is a programming language and IDE based on years of research into building a human-first programming platform. Just don't use it with Apples
|
|
|
|

Sorry, the name EVE has already been taken; please select something unique.
EDIT
/TPU
Invokes the DEC Text Processing Utility (DECTPU). By default, this
runs an editor called EVE (for Extensible Versatile Editor).

'human-first'? So that's the reason it is in a human-unreadable format...

Yet again, someone has reinvented the wheel.

I wouldn't mind so much, if they acknowledged influences, rather than present it as a new breakthrough.

OSMO?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Microsoft’s at it again, reminding users to sign up for Microsoft Rewards (formerly Bing Rewards) by using Edge, Windows 10’s built-in browser. It worked so well (and was so popular) last time
|
|
|

|
Despite all the effort Microsoft is expending in getting Internet users to try out and stick with its Edge browser, Chrome continues to the popular choice. You know what would help with that? Popup ads for Edge!

With 1% of global market share, Microsoft Windows' chances of becoming a major player in the smartphone game are basically dead. "You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?"

It seems that Microsoft forced back (by the market) to it's original role - a software company...Maybe if they focus on that they will do things better...

That's exactly what I'm talking about...
If you see the history of W10 and it's features per release, you can see that Microsoft focused on adding things for a special hardware (the latest one is for designers, before it is for desktop, the original for touch and mobile)... If they will focus on creating an operating system instead of a toy that can be used on different hardware, they may do better...

You may not have noticed, but Microsoft have been a hardware company for a while now.
Mice, keyboards, laptops (Surface et al.) and now all-in-ones (Surface Studio).
All those product lines seem to be performing quite well.

Of which
XBOX gained ~9% in 2014
Surface gained ~4% in 2014
Phones gained ~8% in 2014
Other devices are not even listed alone, but with all the other small services (software included) gained ~6% in 2014
Since then all these where merged into the More Personal Computing group that created a ~17% revenue in 2015...
Add to it all the reports about loosing the phone war (last report about 1% market share) and the fail-back of surface...
I would not call Microsoft a hardware company in no way...

I break a lance in favor of MS mice: they are probably the best mice I ever had, particularly the Comfort 4500 is cheap, reliable, has 5 buttons and it is sufficinetly comfortable.

Two critical privilege escalation vulnerabilities in MySQL, MariaDB, and PerconaDB can help take control of the whole server, which is very bad for shared environments. No sense for just the Flash and Windows users to have all the patching fun

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has finally spoken out about his last few years at the software giant. "We loved, we laughed, we cried, and suddenly love died"
|

Ballmer said: "I had pushed Surface, the board had been a little reluctant in supporting it, and things came to a climax about what to do about the phone business."
If that's true, it's very interesting.
Too bad their Surface / Phone initiative wasn't well thought out and targeted.
It could be a cool space out there with three major device vendors (with separate major OS choices for each).
