They stole name I owned . I had already founded a company called "The ... DAO", in Chinese of course, many years ago. It is operating in a less crazy way now ...

John McAfee, noted liar and one-time creator of anti-virus software, apparently tried to convince reporters that he hacked the encryption used on WhatsApp. Every time I read a statement from McAffee, I picture him finishing it by yelling, “McAfee Rules” with his fists in the air and then jumping through the nearest (closed) window and running away. - Gizmodo User

I’ve used Skype for more years than I care to remember. My Skype username is an embarrassing result of me thinking I was a cool teenager, and I’ve got a big list of important friends and family as contacts. Skype has been the go-to service for me to connect with those friends and family, or even initiate work calls. Over the past couple of years, however, it has been a painful experience. "Need" is a strong word. I think we can probably stand to grumble through it awhile longer.

I uninstalled skype the second it was bought by microsoft and turned into an advertising s***hole.
I could not be happier with the decision.

Twitter Inc. is making a major shift in how it counts characters in Tweets, giving users more freedom to compose longer messages. Good idea? Bad idea?

Thanks, man. Coming from a professional blurb-writer who is continually called upon to be quick-witted, I really appreciate that.

RethinkDB, an open-source database, wants to help developers prototype and build cross-platform, real-time Web, mobile and IoT apps. The company announced Horizon, a new open-source JavaScript platform, is coming out of a closed developer preview today.

There's a lot to love about Ruby – the sweet syntax, the focus on developer productivity and happiness, the mature ecosystem, and of course, the awesome community we built around the language. One thing that Ruby is not known for though, is being a particularly fast language. "Ruby Without Fear"

I think you posted with the wrong title.
It should be: "Introducing Helix. Rust + Ruby, Without The Glue."

I refuse to work in a programming language that provides something as nasty as method_missing and has a triple === operator.
Marc

That's what you get with "dynamic" languages. So, I guess you'd not like Python, JavaScript, etc.. either. BTW, you'd get a version of this behavior when using reflection in C# and Java and other reflective languages.

Yup. If the member you're looking up doesn't exist you get null. If you try to use it, then NullReferenceException. You also get this sort of behavior when using C#'s dynamic.
I agree Ruby's === is assinine. Logical NOT? Why not just != like every other language. WTF?

!= is pretty well limited to C-style languages.
VB has <>, as does SQL and Pascal.
Haskell uses /= (which kind of matches the mathematical operator, indeed Haskell supports ≠ directly).
Smalltalk uses ~=.
There's quite a wide variety. Get out more

I'm aware. Just that === is more like the mathematical equivalent, not "logical not".
