from the judge's decision:
Believing that Big Foot was carrying the 6447 phone, authorities obtained an order from
a federal magistrate judge on July 12, 2006, authorizing the phone company to release
subscriber information, cell site information, GPS real-time location, and “ping” data for
the 6447 phone in order to learn Big Foot’s location while he was en route to deliver the
drugs.
That same day, agents “pinged” the 6447 phone and discovered that it was
currently located in Candler, North Carolina, the location of West’s primary residence.
...
Authorities then obtained a second order from
the magistrate judge authorizing release of the same information for the 6820 phone,
which revealed that the phone was located near Flagstaff, Arizona.
By continuously “pinging” the 6820 phone, authorities learned that Big Foot left
Tucson, Arizona on Friday, July 14, 2006, and was traveling on Interstate 40 across
Texas.
they got two court orders allowing them to ping the phones. the phones respond to these pings with their GPS data.
what more do you want?

you did, however, start off by talking about warrants and judge's authorization, etc., which is what i responded to.

So MVCx/HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery(UI)/insertFavoriteBindingFrameworkHere and SQL both didn't make the cut. Not sure what reality Business Insider lives in.

I expected the article to be pointless drivel and was not disappointed.

Not only a summary, but a far better description of what it takes to make that kind of money.
I'm waiting for their follow-up article on how to make a million on the stock market: "Buy stock that went up."

Windows 8 is something that you can now download for free, provided that you don’t mind the 90 day licence. Those who pirated the RTM build and have been stuck on a 30 day countdown rejoice, you now have more time. Think of the time savings!

Too bad it also takes 33% more time to figure out how to work around the Win8 UI.

The UI apparently is not too mouse friendly, so will take longer to get things done, so really do not need the performance.

Definitely, and it's not very keyboard friendly either.

Good news for those who plan to spend the majority of their career rebooting their machine .
Word of warning Windows ME also booted faster.
Also I have to question the Windows 8 release as win 7 is fairly new , and also can microsoft look me in the eye honestly and tell me why the small trivial features added to win 8 (and all the incompatabilities to come) actually warranted a brand new operating system
