I believe the HomeOS will be a big thing in the near future and IMHO has taken a long time to really gain credibility. But as with all things uSoft does they always enter late in the game@

CentOS project lead Karanbir Singh and a handful of other core CentOS developers are employed full-time by Red Hat. As a result, the CentOS project will become another distribution and community cared for by Red Hat, like Fedora.

It doesn't matter to me. I make money writing code no matter what language is specified.

I don't know who these hiring managers are. But if I get a candidate that talks up open-source involvement my first reaction is... "so?"

I can see that if it's used as a way to vet someone's work. See if you like the way they do things and you can also see if they know what they say they do.
