Really cool!
Xamarin is great, Xamarin Forms is awesome, still a lot of bugs and room to improve but nevertheless AWESOME!!
Only the price was a real turn off.

You know the face: the frowning, skeptical expression you assume unconsciously upon hearing something you disagree with. It’s not just you, nor is it just a tic of the culture in which you operate.

Today we’re making a new extension available that enables C++ development in Visual Studio for Linux. With this extension you can author C++ code for Linux servers, desktops and devices. "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train"

I'm certainly intrigued. Mostly by the idea of being able to debug code from an IDE instead of with GDP on the command line.

According to the American Civil Liberties Union, the US government has cited the All Writs Act in 63 cases since 2008 to compel Apple or Google to assist in accessing data stored on an iPhone or Android device. Just as they did in 1789 for yePhone

The yePhone, manufactured by HearYe-HearYe Systems, Inc., didn't come out until late 1792.

Ever since Microsoft launched its Xbox One console, the company promised it would allow any developer to develop apps for it — but until now, you needed access to the Xbox One dev kit before you could. But dear, it's for work!

There were not a lot of Windows Phones at BUILD 2016, not in the presentation or in the hands of Microsoft staff or attendees. 'Ouch', says the Windows Phone team (and that one Lumia user)

One of the more exciting things announced during Microsoft’s Build 2016 was just how easy it can be for developers to move their desktop Windows (Win32) apps over to the Universal Windows Platform. I wonder what would happen if you run the XP source code through it?

And that's the point at which they lost me.
Until we get the ability to deploy UWP apps to our customer's computers as easily as we can deploy proper applications - and without paying Microsoft for the privilege of doing it - UWP is a non-starter.

Unlike in Win 8, you can freely sideload apps in win 10.

It's a step in the right direction, but it's still not as simple as the "copy files to a UNC path and run the exe" method of deploying regular applications.
