Only tangentially related. I was looking up the rules about possessives and names to confirm nothing had changed since I first learned it. It has - apparently (depending on the particular rules you follow), it can either be ' or 's. However, as I was searching, I found this, which amused me to no end (yes, I'm a dull fellow):
Special Rules for Classical Names
But there are a few exceptions. For classical and biblical names with two or more syllables ending in s or es, you usually just add an apostrophe. If the name is only one syllable, add -'s.

Ramses' kingdom
Amos' prophecy
Zeus's warnings
The names Jesus and Moses are always made possessive with the apostrophe alone:

Great minds... blah blah blah. I did the same a couple weeks ago. I've already forgotten the new rules, but they were interesting.  Another item you may be interested in regarding English as a whole is the book Our Magnificent Bastard Tongue: The Untold History of English, by John McWhorter. I've never read it, but listened to a podcast that is no longer available from a local Dallas station. Here is another podcast that still survives. From the first six minutes (of 1:30:00) it seems to be as interesting as what I heard many years ago.

Why would anyone want to run fake Linux in Windows?
You can erun a VM with a full Linux distrro in it, AND share files and devices.
What is the tangible benefit of WSL over Linux in a VM?
Sounds like the C#8 team has migrated to the Windows team and started pushing pointless bullshit into the project...

Maybe it has more access to the Windows box? I've never become interested enough to care to figure out either. If they wanted to switch to Linux, why not create a full distro of their own?

Running Linux in a VM will always be a better idea. Do you really want to take a chance on MS screwing up WSL during an update, or waiting until THEY decide the kernel needs to be updated? IMHO, that's a blatantly BAD idea, almost as bad as using Visual Basic beyond the 3rd grade.

I suspect that the two of you are right. 
Also that having Linux playing too close to the various Windows API seems like it's just asking for security leakage. Having the isolation of a VM feels safer to me.

I'll always take a Linux VM (4gb of RAM and minimal disk space, depending on the distro of course) over MS's idea of what Linux should be like.
