What we can take from this is most certainly not that doing stuff with a smartphone makes you slower and less efficient.
The conclusion is clear, empirical proof of the Lowest Common Denominator theory of human mental cognizance and agility -- i.e. that using facebook or twitter makes you as stupid as a much-stupider-than-average facebook or twitter user.

Google has shut down a service it provided to wireless carriers globally that showed them weak spots in their network coverage, because of Google’s concerns that sharing data from users of its Android phone system might attract the scrutiny of users and regulators. Now the mobile companies will have to figure out where they don't have cell towers by themselves?
