But reading other posts, including this one where you mention a specific government, that is politics.

just like Silver is now the lowest tier? hmmm I thought the lowest placing tier was bronze? But now outside of sports it is silver, then gold, then platinum, then black??? what the what?
or you go in for service on your car. The lowest service level offered for your car is Premium, then Platinum, then Black? Huh???
It just makes me wonder what the heck is normal anymore.

What's the surprise? Loads of "important" (?) things in the world begin in the middle:
Egs:
- SAT Scores (collage aptitude test in US, or once was)
- Credit Ratings from the major credit agencies
In the case of the latter, there's an artificial max, as well. I mean, really, should someone like Warren Buffet have any limit on their credit rating - assuming, of course, they're not trying to buy one of the EU member states.

Why would any journalist raise that point? Judging from how they work these days, why should any journalist be expected to even understand the point you're trying to make?

The three tiers were originally going to be called "high", "dangerously high" and "OMG you're all going to die!" but the government changed them as they thought it made their ploy too obvious.

It seems that the era of free stuff on the 'net is coming to a close - or at least some of the free stuff from the folks that started giving out free service.

What groups I may have been (or still am) a member of I haven't bothered with since almost forever ago.
Verizon, the proud owner, is doing what Verizon does best: screwing with people. That's sort of an aside.
My suggestion: before it's too late - invite those people over to CP ! We can add more discussion groups until we reach the bottom of the page - and the font could be a wee bit smaller. Bob will have so many new friends !

Same for the one group I'm in. The crippling of group functions VZ did some months ago effectively killed the platform. IIRC all the was left was a klunky mailing list feature, with everything else removed; it was destructive enough I didn't understand why they didn't go directly to full shut down at the time. What's happening now is a mercy killing.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Generally speaking, there should not be anything free anyway. Nothing is free in this world, so if it seems free at first glance, it is because you get screwed in an non obvious way.
