Last place I worked full time I had that printed out and stuck on my monitor. My supervisor had senior management talk to me and get it removed.
I told senior management and the supervisor that if that was how I felt they would already be dead, and seriously, did they think I would need a weapon to f*** the whole office over if I wanted too.
I spent a lot of time in Canberra after that and when that contract finished they didn't find me another position, I was retrenched.

This Australian software developer has turned his van into an office. Nice idea!

I have a Telstra 4G Wi-Fi Hub which is connected to a booster aerial (used for 4wd CD radios). You can see this aerial on the front left of the van. This gives me great network coverage everywhere I need to go. Nice idea!
Someone needs to get Christian Graus in contact with this guy. See if they can find a way to get him internet access.

Just wondering what people here use to backup their own machines and also for relatives or small customers?
I know there is Windows Backup and File History built-in to the last few versions of Windows, but I would like something that was able to backup without compressing the data.
I have a couple of customers who are using Windows Backup to take Images and Backup their data, but want to backup to another USB HDD with the data so they can copy it back if they stuff up a file or two.
I have a few new customers I have taken over from someone getting out of IT, they are all using Cobian Backup as that was free software liked by the previous IT bloke. Problem for me is the source code for the software has been sold several months ago and there is no news on if a new version will be availlable soon and if so will it be charged for and if so how much?
Now I don't mind paying for good software, especially if it isn't priced out of reality. As several of the customers are private individuals without huge budget for software purchases.
So give me your recommendations and reasons for the software you use.
Thanks

I've used Todo Backup Free[^] before to back up a drive and restore it. It should have settings for specifying the amount of compression used or turning it off. It also allows you to mount and access the files of a backup image - so if you need to restore a missing or corrupted file you could do that.
I've also used Aomei Backupper[^]. Basically the same as Todo backup with a lot of the same features.
Reason for using them? They are free (for home use) and they did the job
Otherwise you might just want to use some file syncing software[^] to sync the important files to the external hdd.

This probably doesn't apply here, but all I use at home is robocopy.exe (which is already in your %windir%\system32 directory) and a batch file.
I use nothing but VMs. Backing up is a matter of syncing .VHD files. I don't bother backing up the VM host, as there's nothing running on it except maybe for custom motherboard drivers, which take about 3 minutes to install after reinstalling the OS from an ISO, which itself takes under 20 minutes.
As an added bonus, diskmgmt.msc can mount those .VHD files, so you can access the content as if it was another drive.

Hi All,
I didn't turn my PC on yesterday, I checked mail on my phone nothing urgent. Turned it on today over 100 e-mails, what? I am amazed at the sales starting on Xmas day online and today. Does anybody really need a new dining set on Christmas day????

There exists at least one person who needs a new dining set on Christmas day.

Ah! but are they sober enough to order it, also my thinking was if you need it why wait until Christmas day, surely you can wait the few hours until boxing day...
