No I would not call them hallucinations if I thought they were real. That doesn't make any sense.
And why the heck are you trying to "confront" me about my mental health condition anyway?
Maybe consider your own reaction when someone discusses their experiences with mental illness. Maybe they aren't asking for your help or a confrontation? Maybe they are adults who are capable of looking after themselves and getting the help they need, particularly since they haven't given you any reason to think they are out of control in their entire history here?
I mean, sorry I got frustrated with you, but whether or not you meant it to be, your unsolicited advice that I "get help" (and your assumption that I hadn't had it) was pretty unwelcome.
And yeah, now I'm "confronting" you, but not simply for my sake, but so maybe in the future when someone else discusses their experiences with a disability you can maybe do a little better.
And no, this isn't a conversation I was eager to have with you. I don't actually like confrontation.

And why the heck are you trying to "confront" me about my mental health condition anyway? Years ago I lacked sleep. The first problem was imagining hearing things.
Not trying to confront; I'd not dare so.

No it wasn't required. It was unwelcome. I'm an adult. I am capable of looking after myself. Reconsider your assumption that people who live with a mental illness need you to look after them. It's infantilizing and offensive. There. I hope that was clear enough.

Oh it failed me? How did it fail me, Eddie? Be specific, since you know so much about me.
Is it because I don't live up to your stereotypes about the mentally ill? Am I not appropriately miserable to you, Eddie? Too much peace with my condition?

All of that just to avoid my question. Seems a lot of words for a non-response.
Anyway, I'm done. For the record, if I wanted your advice on my mental health, I'd ask for it.

I'm much better at the article contests than I am at this. I really wish I could participate but I'm horrible at it - utterly clueless.

Nonsense! You have a clue: "Flowing smart about quantity (9)"
It's meaning nothing to me either today, but it's a clue!

They are easy once you learn the rules. You can disassemble the sentence clue into a set of instructions.
Flowing (smart about quantity) (9)
The word 'about' here is a container indicator[^]. The clue becomes:
Find a synonym for 'Flowing' by wrapping a synonym of 'smart'[^] around a synonym for 'quantity'[^].
Streaming is a synonym for the word 'flowing'. The solution would be to wrap 'sting'[^] around the word 'ream'[^].
I guess if you have enough practice then you could speak an aesopian language[^] with others that very few could understand.

Oh well,
I didn't want to post the solution. But in the past clearly explaining how to solve them has attracted new players. Was hoping to get the witch onboard.

I'm sure it wouldn't take him long to get the hang of them - he's made a few comments regarding the CCC lately so he's clearly interested

You just need to learn the basic formula for them, Randor has given you one example but there are many more - come on in

Someone posted the Wikipedia link to “Cryptic Crossword” earlier. That helps.
I was trying to wrap SMART around some 4 letter synonym for QUANTITY. Fail!😞

Since on the one hand I have a hard time enjoying Netflix or Disney plus (apart from the occasional once in 6 month show) and since, on the other hand, I watch a lot of Youtube and many of my favorite independent media youtubers keep complaining about the algorithm and advertise Curiosity Stream + Nebula package instead. I finally made the jump.
My first surprise. This is $15... a year! Neat! Should have done it earlier!
