Had it been me, the story might have read,

I heard a similar story from OpenReach technicians trying to fix my fibre broadband when it was playing up - they mentioned several other cases in the city where I live where old TVs caused sufficient interference to generate enough noise on a copper line to bring down ADSL broadband. The person with the old TV was offered a new TV in exchange for the old one - problem solved.

It's nothing my dog wouldn't Bach at, so don't Strauss out about it, just add it to your little Liszt.

My usual overly Verdi reply: First, of course, if you Telemann these things in the form of a pun it may fall flat. Naturally, you coda done this sort of staff more discretely but that might Scarlatti the pottential posters away.
Tell me, if you would, does a noisy dog Offenbach?

Saw that commercial (advert) last night. At first, of course, my Mrs. was wondering if it were indeed the actually actors or actors portraying actors. Then, of course, she realized I didn't really care.

Brilliant! And it takes a lot for me to be impressed by an advert. They usually only succeed in annoying me.

I think I must have an internal ad blocker, I don't recall any of those ads, mind you I don't watch a lot of TV either.
We do have a guy here who does the voice overs for lots of long winded ads selling crap products - the "wait but we have more" rubbish.

... that:
- telling everyone to get back to the office
- incentivising people to "eat out to help out"
- opening up travel corridors to encourage holidays
- re-opening pubs and restaurants
... would increase infection rates? Well, apparently, the UK Government didn't!
Still. We have a "world-beating app", a highly effective track and trace system, the highest testing capacity in Europe and clear instructions on how to stop the spread of the virus. So, it'll be fine....

Don't forget
- letting disease factories gather in large groups and calling it a "year bubble" in schools.
Another brilliant idea, given that said disease factories almost never show any symptoms of Covid then take it home with them ...

Over here they opened the schools (instead of remote learning) for no good reason except to let students have parties - and now are closing them again for the consequences.

Plus, as Scrooge would say, "get rid of the surplus population".
In the US, the death toll is 200,000. Now consider this: the detected case count is about seven million. Seven million is about 2% of the population.
Now . . . . extrapolate ! Even if it's off by a damn order of magnitude in case count we're still looking at an additional 800,000 dead! I doubt the error's nearly that large and the horror all the greater for it.
It boggles my mind that any politician (let alone any human being) could allow this to be politicized as we hear the CDC change its story, on a daily basis it seems, so as not to offend! Another casualty of the unthinkably politicized pandemic is confidence in the CDC and similar (formerly) reputable institutions throughout the world.
